Tach and speedo came in over the weekend. Speed Hut did an incredible job redesigning and recreating the oem gauges. These gauges, along with the rest, will be completely plug and play with the Holley EFI system.

Got jump seats! Once I pulled the carpet off the original, the base looked pretty bad. It appeared that Nautique didn't care very much about the aesthetics as they counted on the carpet to cover up the imperfections. The original seat base was completely body worked. Then a mold was pulled. I wanted to the final product to be nice enough to not require any upholstery at all. Lastly, a quick a sneak peek of the trailer! Just a couple final touches left, should be done in another week or so. Castaway Customs came by the house last week to template the SeaDek step pads.

The shop I took the boat to originally didnÂ’t have the time or man power to get it done. I dropped the boat off at a different shop on Saturday. Same shop that has built all of my part molds. Should have some headway to share in the next month.

The upholstery shop has also changed. I’m in the process of crating all of my interior parts. Having C&S Marine do all of the work. More original that way.

Not a whole lot to update but initial dyno pulls on the gt40 converted 408 look good. Still have some tuning to do but pretty happy considering we are using the stock intake. Should pull nicely. Wish the horsepower was higher but it’s not a race boat and it needs to idle smooth as the original motor did.

HP 375.5 @ 4800 rpm
TQ 484 @ 3000 rpm
TQ 488 @ 3300 rpm
TQ 487 @ 3500 rpm
TQ 481 @ 3700 rpm

What was the stock advertised HP and TQ for the GT40? I would imagine you got a big bump in TQ with your mods even if HP didn’t change as much as you hoped. TQ is probably more important for a wakeboard boat with ballast?

PCM advertises the gt40 at 310 hp and 375 ft lbs. So on the torque front, it’’s a nice jump. I do like the consistency between 3000 and 4000. It’s 470-480 throughout that entire rpm range.

Peak HP in a tow boat is useless unless you plan this to be a barefoot boat, in which case you have the wrong hull and propulsion type to start with. Those torque numbers in the low range are really nice though. That's something you'll feel.
