What's Happening at Silver Cove Marine?

Curious on the gelcoat jobs for both boats above...how much 'graphics shadowing' will be there after the gelcoat is worked out. On my black hulled 206, I have the 'Air' graphics and have thought about replacing them with more traditional Ski Nautique logos. However, I'm concerned that if I pull the Air graphics off, I'll never be able to remove the graphics shadow.

My personal experience has been that after an initial buff out, the shadow is not visible but it returns over time.

Both the 2005 red, white &blue 196 and the red 1997 Ski Nautique are our boats, and will be for sale.

We have never had issues with shadowing coming back. We tend to wet sand fairly heavily though to get down to the good gel.

Our 1997 Ski Nautique had the interior and the rub rail removed today. It goes into gelcoat restoration next week!

Our client's 1999 Sport Nautique got a rebuilt harmonic balancer installed last week. It also got a new trailer fender installed today, and the trailer side steps were rewelded so that they are stable now. A trailer frame crack was also discovered and repaired.

The new cover for our 2002 Super Air Nautique Python boat is complete. We decided since there were already snaps around the bow for a bow cover, we would use those, and then we would add additional snaps to the underside of the rub rail for the bigger part of the cover. That way we don't make any new holes in the gelcoat. I think it turned out fine!

Our 1997 Ski Nautique is all disassembled and ready to head to gelcoat! While it is away, we'll powder coat the windshield, refurbish the dashboard, and complete other tasks that can be done while the boat is out of the assembly shop.

A client brought in a 2000 Super Air Nautique this past weekend for an engine replacement. His GT-40 had frozen and cracked. We'll be replacing it with a known-good spare from our stock.



The engine has had all maintenance completed and we run tested it today just to be sure everything was perfect. It'll go in soon!

Sounds like one of the first documented victims of someone's unfortunate winterization strategy. I bet this won't be the last one we hear about as the season opening gets closer.

Bilge is all cleaned up and ready for the new engine now.

Our client's 1992 Sport Nautique windshield was finally reassembled today. This particular windshield was a real pain for some reason, but we got it! I installed part of it, and we'll install the rest on Monday.
