As a passionate Nautique owner for over 30 years, I feel compelled to speak out about a deeply disappointing and perplexing decision that directly affects not only me, but countless loyal Nautique owners across the Pacific Northwest.
I’ve personally purchased four new Nautiques from Active Water Sports in Oregon over the years, along with two of my neighbors who recently ordered brand-new Ski Nautiques. Why? Because Warren and his team have consistently delivered exceptional service, knowledgeable support, and an ownership experience that goes far beyond expectations. The parts department, the pro shop, the service crew—every piece of the Active Water Sports experience reflects what a true Nautique dealership should be.
To hear that Warren—after more than 40 years as a trusted partner and ambassador for your brand—is being replaced by a completely unproven dealer 200+ miles away, operating out of a leased building in a gravel lot, is not only baffling... it's a gut punch.
Active’s Canby location is a multi-million-dollar facility built specifically to support Nautique owners. It offers indoor rack boat storage, concierge-level support, a massive showroom, and one of the most experienced service teams in the country. Add to that two other Active locations with Nautique representation and pro-level gear, and you have brand coverage and customer experience that any manufacturer would dream of. Why throw that away?
This isn’t just about geography. It’s about trust, community, and the years it takes to build relationships that support a premium brand like Nautique. Anyone who’s owned a high-end inboard knows that after-sale service is everything, and Active has earned our loyalty by showing up every time.
I know firsthand from experience in the industry: opening new stores doesn’t guarantee success—it guarantees years of struggle. Brand loyalty is earned, not transferred. And service departments don’t grow overnight.
Warren’s team is financially strong, with deep inventory, experienced staff, and a community that rallies behind them. I attended their “Evening with the Stars” event last fall, where over 1,000 people showed up—an amazing turnout that speaks volumes.
So please, from one passionate Nautique owner to those guiding the brand’s future: this decision is a mistake. It doesn’t reflect the Christian values or legacy I’ve long associated with Correct Craft and Nautique. Punishing a proven, dedicated partner for temporary economic conditions while replacing them with someone untested is short-sighted and unfair.
