    What's up with the 2022 210/230?

Are they done? Are they getting a major overhaul? Hopefully the radio silence is akin to what happened with the G21 refresh -- the G23/G25 were shown off with no mention of the G21 and then it came out later. The links to "Design your 210/230" are borked.

      I don't know if I believe that ^ but I suppose we'll see.

Also, a 210 with a 450 hp engine? Goodness man!

I asked my dealer directly about this yesterday and he said, “yes they are being replaced. I think the replacements will be announced this fall.”

Oh boy. I hope we are not all forced into the oversized wake tank style boats with 42" of freeboard.

I also heard they are being replaced. What does that do to the value of a 210 after the fact? My guess is very little. They should hold just fine. Anyone else disagree?

Good question. I think they’ll hold fine as well. Heck, look at what an old school 210 sells for now.

Our local dealer confirmed the discontinuation and said they were revamping the GS line for 210/220/230 buyers to move into. Not super happy but maybe Nautique will surprise us. I agree that forcing everyone into surf ships sounds bad... Especially when considering I would need a new lift and tow vehicle to own one.

The problem with that is it will significantly raise the price of admission into the Nautique brand and alienate a lot of buyers.

From a business perspective I would argue the opposite. Nautique is selling more boats than they can make right now and the 210 and 230 are probably the least popular boats they make and sell right now. Price point clearly isn’t an issue with new boats as paragons Gs and GS are all selling out build slots. We may not like it as consumers but as a business it probably makes sense for nautique to eliminate the 210 and 230 and revamp the GS

Agree, but that’s not what I was talking about. I was describing the perspective of myself as well as other buyers. Additionally, from a business perspective, Nautique could potentially be painting themselves into a corner by only making more exclusive/expensive boats. It won’t affect them when times are good, but when the pendulum swings the other way, they won’t have any “value models” to sell. If my next new purchase comes at a time when the Nautique starting lineup is $150K+ I’ll be removing my Nautique goggles for the first time in 21 years and looking elsewhere.

I’ve stopped keeping track and keeping up with all the new modes about 3 yrs ago. The exponential increase in price has turned the wake market from core riders to luxury boats. A 2021 G21 is 165k. I can’t even get a G21 down my launch ramp . I demoed a GS22 and the performance drop for wake and surf for the size and price upgrade didn’t get it done for me.

The amount of Paragons and regular G 23-25’s my dealer has sold is a bit scary to me. We don’t have very many huge bodies of water around , but those beasts are sitting on small lakes. I love wake and surf as much as next guy , but those wakes are next level and a majority of their owners ( at least by me that I have experienced ) , have more money than brains. They’re gonna have us with more rules and regs faster than Biden hands out free cash. There is a reason the PWT is nothing what it used to be. The core rider aspect has disappeared and just about every MFG would rather sell 1 G23 paragon style bot then 3 210’s. I get it from the business standpoint , but at some point that bubble is going to burst.

Honestly I’ve spent time in the revamp bu 22lsv and 22MKZ . If the market wasn’t so nuts right now I could see myself in either of those.

Swatguy, I agree with you. I started wakeboarding in 2007 and always dreamed of owning a new nautique. I still wakeboard 99% of the time and mess around on the skis sometimes and maybe one surf set a year. Sadly, I just cant see the justification to spend the money on a new nautique. Until 2012/2013 when the first G was released I dont think there were any?? wakeboats over the 100k threshold. Fast forward 10 years and there are almost none under that same threshold. Thank you wakesurfing, hahaha. End of rant.
