We have our 2017 SAN 230 for sale for $88k. Sounds like I have it priced WAY too low...

I’ll have to add $30-60k next time I update our listing...

Having owned towboats from back in the days when MasterCraft's slogan was, "What Wake?" I could not get myself into a big boxy barge. I did go from a direct drive to a 09-230 as I no longer slalom ski and rarely barefoot. At first, I could not believe the boat size and I was pleasantly surprised that the boat handled reasonably well. Nimble, nice lines, simple electronics...I guess I'm old school.

I am going to demo a 210 next weekend. Not sure if the 210 being around for so long gives me cause for confidence or hesitation. The dealer i am going to does not have a gs20 for me to demo. Would getting a 210 leave me thinking i am stuck in the past, or will it make happy knowing i own a staple in the nautique line.

The 210 is a fine boat. Surfs like a champ with some extra weight. Another way to look at it: The 210 has been around so long because Nautique hasn't come up with a way to improve it.

I think the updates over the years to the 210 make it feel and look just as luxurious and modern Inside as any current boat can be. It’s just an exterior style classic shape with classic lines.

I’ve had my 230 for 5 years and the rumour then was that they would be getting rid of it. I love it as much now as the day I bought it. I actually have a friend with a g23 who is considering getting the 230 instead. I’d say if you are not a pro wakeboarder and don’t need to store boards and equipment for 10 people for the day the 230 is a nice option and quite a bit cheaper. I’m sure the 210 is great as well but we like to take a few friends often so the 23 foot is better for us. This boat model is likely way to big of a cash cow for Nautique to get rid of. I’ve surfed the g23 and 230 with multiple different settings and really can’t say I like one over the other.

                Berno - I had a 210 and recently went to a 230. The 210 is really a fantastic boat.

The only thing I'll add is that I notice your location is Billings. If it gets breezy often on your lake, I'd suggest going with the 230. One of the pleasant surprises in my switch was how much better the 230 handles chop than the 210 did. The extra two feet really cut down on some of the repeated jarring hits on a breezy day when headed into the wind and reduced the roll with a quartering wind. But generally speaking, the 210 drives very similar to the 230.

Would you say the space difference is significant between the 2 boats?

IMO, you have the best boat in the line up. 2009 230 is the best bang for your buck. Last year of all gauges, classic lines, and crisp interior. Excellent upgrade!

srock - Yes there is a lot more seating space and the 230 feels more open than the 210 does. There's a commensurate increase in storage space, but nothing like going up to a G in storage.

i would love to have a 230 over a 210 for the exact reason of handling in extremely choppy water. However garage storage has me stuck with the shorter boat. Does anyone have experience with how the gs20 handles in choppy water?

My GS20 handles chop much better than my 2011 210 did, but still a far cry from a deep V boat or center console.

Living on the lake, the 210 meets all our needs - we don't really need a larger boat. Its rare that we go all day without returning to the dock, so storage, a head, food service, etc is not an issue. For entertaining a large group, well, thats what the 16-person pontoon is for.

My main critique of the 210 is the low bow. I know its to help visibility when pulling slow wakes, but sometimes it seems inches away from taking a dip into the larger swells when the lake gets busy with a bunch of other larger boats (but hasn't actually happened yet).

....and when I purchased it less than 2 years ago it had 57 hours on it.

As awesome as the new G boats are they are out of my price range. 210 is about it. Next boat will be a new 210.

We demoed a GS20 for a week and decided against it. The storage and room were great for a 20ft boat. The wakeboarding wake on our old 210 is better. Biggest issue was everyone in the back got drenched GS20 got a lot of spray.
