It’s clumsy because you have to step between tower+board racks and the bimini so there aren’t a lot of good places to step. I don’t have tower height measurements when folded because I’m keeping it in a marina slip. If I have the occasion to pull it out I’ll get a measurement on the trailer for you, thought with mine being a G23 it could be a little different than yours will be...

We have a 19 coming next month, we also selected the tower down cover options. Would it be possible to put the cover on back to front, allowing you to exit the boat down your bow ladder?

I suppose but the tension adjusters are all in the back so I think it would be more difficult. My cover was so tight we had to do some serious wrenching to get it on...I was ready to go buy some Vaseline! It’s stretched now so it’s better.

Be careful what you wish for... Nautique may add a non-optional, tower-mounted, automatic retracting cover for next year, along with a $4k price bump...

On a serious note, is anyone considering buying both covers? For those of us who tow without becoming a bug net, but also want to cover our boats on the water, two covers can come in handy.

          Just curious.

Reading this thread has me scratching my head. What is the purpose of a rear folding tower? The only reason I can think of folding down the tower is if your lift won't accommodate the height and putting it in a garage. Its not an issue with the garage, but if you are pulling into a lift, how do people get out of the boat?? Do you have to climb over the tower??

Simple....what is the purpose of a front folding tower?? Really. Because tons of people with Nautiques and wake boats in general need to fold their towers for VARIOUS reasons. I would guess that 80% of open and covered lifts can accommodate the boat with the tower still up. The people should just get out of the boat normally. There might be a small small amount of folks that have to put their tower down to go into a covered lift....so yeah....move everyone to the bow and walkway and then climb out.

Counter point: I have a bridge near my house I travel under often that I would not have clearance for in any year newer than my 2016 due to the increased tower height. My 2016 doesn't clear in the early spring when the lake is high. I'm good the rest of the year by about 6 inches.

I also had to put my tower down to clear a lower bridge elsewhere this summer and it's downright dangerous to drive the boat with the tower collapsed. It sits right in the drivers seat and blocks to throttle and wheel. Very awkward and sketchy.

In short if you want to collapse the tower and drive the boat a power tower that folds to the rear is clutch. Likely a small segment of the market but I can say that I would only consider upgrading to a 19 with this new tower.

I am in that small segment of buyers, who have to have the tower going to the rear. I have to put the tower down 3-4 times a day as our lakes here in florida have small bridges or culverts to travel through to get to less crowed lakes or restaurants. The culvert that connects my lake to the bigger lakes is so small I have to fill all the ballasts, lower the tower, pull all boards off and stow the binini, all the while walking it through hand over hand. check out the pic.

Ha, I used to be rep for a company who sold those multi plate culverts like your going through. Never thought I would see a G going through one that small.

Bottle.....that is one CRAZY pic .!! You are the perfect candidate for a rear folding power tower.

I’ve noticed and read about the 19 G23’s walkthrough window and it’s seen as a poor open design in the regard that it doesn’t sit flush to the windshield like on the 18’s when open but after watching the walkthrough on the 19 that nautique posted I noticed that the walkthrough window was sitting flush to the windshield unlike all the other 19’s floating around where the window does not seem to sit flush. Could this mean that some 19’s will come with a flush open window?

Good catch. Yes...I watched the walk-through video and it does appear to sit flusher then the previous pic. It was mentioned in a previous post that Nautique was working on a "fix" for the current center window....because it stuck way up in the air as opposed to previous year windows. Window does look pretty slick with the center closed.

One of my employees spoke with Nautique and the new tower has “no manual override in case it gets stuck”. From a safety and security standpoint, that seems like a poor design. For example, if you store your boat tower-down and the tower sticks up, you have no way to secure your boat. Also, what if you need to tow it home and the tower is stuck halfway up or down? My Mastercraft dealer had told me this, but I had no confirmation from anyone until now.

Can you see any way way to bypass it? I just can’t believe Nautique would design it this way.

                              Thanks!
