I personally don't care for the shape of the hulls on those mastercrafts, that swoop in the back just looks off to me.
I totally agree! MC used to make the best looking tow boats, but in the past several years their boats look terrible to me with that swooping rub rail. Hideous.
The ironic thing about that statement, is that Nautique and MC use the EXACT same computer systems...... literally the exact same screen, and PDMs.
They may both be designed by Murphy, but they aren't the same software, and they are not the same size screens. I don't know the ins and outs of the software design, but I am sure that the software is directed if not completely designed by the boat company. MC calls it 'proprietary'.

Actually, they are identical, with the exception of a crossover in the size change in 2017. Nautique moved to the PowerView 1200 a year earlier than MC. Before that, they both used the powerview 780, including the 2016 Gs which simply had a trim panel covering the area where the side buttons are. They are now both back to the same with the 1200, and the power distribution modules (the module that the screen controls to actually perform the commanded functions) are also identical, and interchangeable.
As for the software- Well, it's not really proprietary software either. It's a software suite that Murphy developed, that allows a customer to group certain functions in certain screen tabs, and page arrangements. Then they are able to add their own artwork, and personal touches on the viewable screens. All the logic, is developed by Murphy.
Neither company has had issues with the portion of these systems that is developed by the boat manufacturer. The issues are always related to hardware failures, and the base software logic performed by the systems. Neither of which is developed by the boat manufacturer. Both companies have had a couple little hiccups with Murphy systems here and there, but neither has had big problems at all. If you want to see examples of that, look into the average failure rate of the boat companies that still use medallion....
