    New X46 or new G25

So I have a 2014 G23 and I have always owned Nautiques. I'm selling my G in September and going to start looking at new boats to buy for next season.

I'm seriously considering making a switch to an X46

I really like the look of the x46, I've heard great things about Gen 2 (never surfed it) and really like the interior.

I know what I'm getting with the G but for some reason Nautique just seems to have lost some of its luster for me in the past years.

    Thoughts?

We test drove the X46 before we bought the G23. I love the vinyl, you can get colors and not worry about the heat. I still don't believe people who say that their dark vinyl does not get hot. But the MC material feels more like denim than vinyl. I think the G23 surf wave was better, but I am sure that we could have put more weight in to make it better. The storage is so much smaller it doesn't even compare. I like the tower on MC as well and the racks are better for sure.

I have a Nautique dealer in my backyard and MC dealer 300 miles away, which made Nautique a no brainer. Something to consider.

If was going to buy a MC it would be a X23.

If I was going to buy another boat it would be another G23.

X46 may be going away soon. Something to consider.

I personally don't care for the shape of the hulls on those mastercrafts, that swoop in the back just looks off to me.

Mastercraft still makes boats? Seriously though my dad and I were just having a conversation about mastercraft and their lack of presence right now. The G has to have hurt MC sales tremendously

Ya.....X46 is on its way out. Will be replaced by X24 probably next year. If you are looking at MC, I'd definitely check out the X23.

Brycejay- I'm sure G sales have effected a lot of sales for a lot of companies, and MC has been quieter lately...... but they are stepping it up, and their last few new offerings have definitely shown it. And MC is still outselling Nautique, so they didn't fall back very much at all. Still building some pretty nice boats. They need a flagship though.....

I am pretty sure the X46 is getting replaced by the XT25, and I'm pretty sure that boat will be out sometime around the new year.

It's really hard to beat the any of the boats in the G series if you're serious about the way they perform. I think Mastercraft still has to make some improvements in hull design in order to come anywhere close to the G series.

Who knows, maybe the XT25 does that...but I know factually the X46 does not. I would take a G25 all day every day.

New Xstar will be flagship I would think.

X46 only rated to seat 15, G25 is what, 18 or 19? The room in the 25 is much better.

Buddy traded his '13 X-45 for a '17 X-46. He's had computer / screen issues with both boats. No question I'd go the G route.

Sold my X-30 two days ago and will not be MC shopping although we go back a loooog ways.

The ironic thing about that statement, is that Nautique and MC use the EXACT same computer systems...... literally the exact same screen, and PDMs.

The G storage is the best in the business for inboard boats. Malibu storage is not bad, except that to get comparable ballast, you need to put sacks in there that take away all of the storage. I am not sure about sacks in the MC, but the storage was smaller even without any sacks in there.

I woulduv thunk that the XT23 is the flagship surf boat and the Xstar would remain the flagship wakeboard boat. Or it is time to make an XT 24 and retire the Xstar altogether.

Let's face it, the people who can actually pay the bills like to surf and are too old, fat or lazy to wakeboard.
