Trey, I have a 98' 210. We typically have 9 adults in the boat. It's pretty comfortable if you use the bow seating. Typically my wife and her friends love sitting in the bow. The stadium seating is pretty good for accommodating a full boat.

Here is where I feel it gets tricky. When you're fully loaded with ballast "extra storage" becomes a problem as fast as your ballast fills. Organization is a MUST. I try to keep passenger "carry ons" to a backpack and store them under the observer seat. I go as far as supplying boat towels so I can keep them nicely stowed away. I have 13 life jackets nicely hidden(but easy to get to) all over the boat. As my son got older(he's now 20) more and more of his friends would come, so keep that in mind when selecting you're next boat. I wouldn't worry about the height too much, you can always buy a different tower like a Roswell that folds down very easy. The next boat I buy will be in the 230 size, I figure it's better to have the space and not need it, then to not have it and need it. You'll find whatever V drive you choose will have much more room than you d drive pro air.

ust to add to the post. If garage height is an issue the Titan Stainless offering in 08-09 will clear a 7ft door on the Eagle factory trailer. I specifically searched flr
this tower and era of boat boat that reason. I have 4 racks and a set of REV 10's and the tower folds and goes back up with 1 person in less than 30 seconds. It's the easiest tower I have ever had to fold exclet for a newer 2point with gas shock assist.

I also have a 08 230 with the Titan. 4 factory tower speakers and 2 board racks and I can put it up and down myself easily.

We love the space, it's a big boat but awesome when on the water. It can handle everything. We never worry about burying the bow like we would sometimes with our 04 210.

Funny, our previous boat was a Pro Air too, and I was "set" on getting a 210. A friend had a nice '08 210, so I had plenty of time on his, wakeboarding, surfing and hanging out. When we started looking, my wife loved the walkthough on the 230's so we started looking at them. The 230 has a lot more features built in than the 210's of the same era, ie. more cupholders in the main cabin, extra rear-facing seating, more storage, 51 gallon fuel vs. 39, etc. So we decided on a 230 and have loved it. The 230 is much more to deal with towing, storing, etc..
FWIW, my buddy who had the 210, then went to the 230 and still managed to get it in his 7' tall garage door. He had a '12 with the Roswell tower that would fold down enough to clear, and he later had an "08 230 with a Titan tower that fit too. His garage was a 3 car, and he put them in sideways!

I think I will throw the 230 in the hat as well...

Towing a bigger boat isn't a problem with my truck or the wife's yukon in a pinch.

Boat Length isn't a huge concern either since we've got the space in the barn or the carport. Height with tower folded is going to be my sticking point. We do have a few acres however and one of my neighbors just finished a stand alone carport for his Boat and RV that looks decent and didn't cost nearly as much as I figured....

I also made the mistake of crawling around in an 09 X-Star sitting down the street for sale. Didn't hate it.

Take a closer look at the 230. With a 102" beam it is very roomy inside. Same width as a G series. I was really surprised how much larger it is inside than my 1999 Pro Air. If you run with a large crew it is great as everyone has room and no one is stepping over each other as they move around. Can't speak to the wakeboard or surf characteristics of the hull but I am sure others will chime in.

We have a 04 sante 210 and we use my parents pontoon as a base station. For us, 4 adults and kids seems pretty cramped.

                      Right,

Which If you re-read what you quoted that's why I'm after an 07+ as it seems as though the interior at least "feels" bigger. I found a nice python SAN last year that I really had to talk myself out of because we weren't really gaining a ton of space.

Don't get me wrong I love your "vintage" of super air, I just need something a little more roomy at this point in my boating life.

We up-sized from an 01 SAN to an 08 with the Titan tower same as swat. We wanted the extra space as well and it's been great, although a 230 would obviously give you a little more elbow room! Ours sits on a MASSIVELY tall ezloader and clears our 96" door by about 4". Any other trailer would probably get you under a 7' door with the Titan tower.

I can also add that we stored a buddy's 08 X-Star and that tower isn't designed to fold down on a regular basis and barely fit under our door opening height. Now, I can agree on that rig's sex appeal, though.

Don't do an Xstar , the tower is PITA to fold and the cockpit is about the size of your pro air . It's the single most cramped cockpit of that era . You think the big bow would make up for the lack of cockpit space , but once you fill that up with people you'll be taking water over the nose on rough days or surf sessions. It's also a not so easy boat to surf. The wakeboard wake is awesome , but the boat needs a *^%# ton of weight to be surfable or wakeboardable. The wakeboard wake is also really really wide for beginners. If you were looking on being at the low end of your budget an early 2000's X30 should clear a 7ft door if I recall correctly. If I were looking MC X15 would be where I would be in the current line up ,

Interesting on the x star tower. That will make it a no go for me then.

Rode in a buddy's Malibu VTX yesterday and was pretty impressed.

Still think I'm probably going to stay brand loyal. Nautique quality is pretty hard to beat.
