It's a 40,000 dollar price swing and a year newer boat.
I was going through the same decision last year and ended up with a used G over ordering a new LSV. Have you considered the '14 Race City has or a used '16 like DocPhil has for sale?

Just bought mine for 55% off MSRP, which is obviously below dealer cost, but the manufacturer tossed in a big chunk of money as a part of a special promotion they have going on. Promo boat deals can be decent, however you only get the remainder of the warranty, and it'll have roughly 100 hours on it.
On a used (or demo/promo) direct drive MasterCraft...not even CLOSE to the same thing as people on here are talking about for G23s. A lot of dealerships don't even stock direct drives anymore.

That is a **** of a good deal, but I wonder how the currency worked into that.

Yep. G23 is the in demand boat. Better deals can be had on the others...as confirmed by the quotes from my dealer when I bought my new one. 23 was the right boat for me regardless.

Yes, I think it is an amazing deal, the folks at Wizard lake marine are amazing! The currency probably had about a 5% as our dollar was about 5% higher when they bought the boat?

As per Okwakebdr comment, I agree but think the G25 had more potential if it is weighed down enough and with the 2.1 on the 2016's the 550 should be able to push whatever I can throw in there.. Going to put 1100 in each rear locker, 650 under the nose seats and a 1100 bag on the floor which I can slide forward or back depending on what the wake is doing. With that setup the boat and fuel without people is almost 15 000 pounds, should be an awesome wake?

You're absolutely right, and I all of you wake/surf boat buyers for my deal But who said anything about used/demo/or promo? I'm talking non-current, and that would apply to G's as well. No where near the deal I got, but a relative great deal just the same.

I am working the deal now for the SN 200 open bow demo boat, which is ending up at about 45% off of list. 115 hours. What do you guys think? My thought it that it should be priced at 20% off when new and another 20% off for a year of use, with the extra 5% for being a demo boat. They assure me it will look new when I pick up the boat with all all scratches and nicks repaired, which it has about 3-4, and the interior is essentially new. I am happy with the numbers but wanted to see what others thought. Having all of the hours in one year is less of a big deal to me, rather than have the boat sit a lot. Oil was changed every 20 hours.

For you guys buying promo boats, what is a typical discount when you purchase these units?

Sounds like a good deal. Why would you change the oil every 20 hours, unless you are just trying to make a new owner feel like you are extra careful? Are direct drive ski boats supposed to be changed more often? I am also sure they wiped it down once at the ramp, then again at the shop, too.

I am interested in a 16 or 17 because of the spray issue. I also need to sell a basically new Malibu. Many dealers will not take a expensive new boat in trade. I would have carried both boats if I could get a screaming deal on a 16 like some on here are posting about. The dealer offered a decent deal I would have taken had my Malibu sold. Malibu is offering a screaming deal on a 17 LSV and it's not a bad boat. 40K is a lot of money! With the price on the LSV I can keep it two years and probably be better off from a money standpoint upgrading to a Nautique at that point verses keeping my 16 Malibu.

Can you elaborate on the spray issue? I'm possibly looking for a 15 G23. I was trying to hold out for a 16 but the price difference is still too much.

Not only should you hold off for the spray issue but the hull is totally redesigned in 2016. I know some guys have gotten great waves out of their 2015 and older Gs but I have demoed both and the difference is night and day.

The 2015 and earlier Gs had a significant spray off the hull that would come into the boat. Tallredrider basically traded his 2015 in because it was so bad IIRC. I still get some minor spray in my 2016 but nothing compared to the reports from 15 and earlier owners. Apparently it is worst on windy days and blows into the boat over the gunnals on each side right behind the windshield

No need to change the oil that often in a 200. It does seem like a decent deal, although I'm a demo boat skeptic. Back in my MC sales days, I never saw a demo that wasn't treated like a rental car, unless I was at the helm. When the 200 came out, Lauderdale brought a 200 demo to our CC reunion in Green Lake. It had under 10 hours and already had dock rash and interior blemishes from abuse or careless people climbing in and out. I have no doubt any demo will still provide years of trouble free service, but I'd want to see all the cosmetic stuff repaired before writing the check.

I know the initial drain interval is supposed to be 20 hours on the H6 engine, but I am not sure why they continued this. The boat was used in one of the local ski shows and pulled up to 2 skiers at a time, so perhaps that was considered "heavy duty" usage. More likely it was to help sell the boat after the demo period.

When I did go down to look at it, it did indeed have damage to the graphics and again some scratches and dings to the gelcoat. However, they agreed to replace all of the graphics, repair all paint and gelcoat dings, and buff/wax the entire boat prior to delivery so it should look essentially new when I take delivery in about a month. This will all be done on their dime. As for the interior, I could not find any flaws.

The H6 is reportedly a monster in that boat.

Thanks for your feedback and appreciate it. I would agree and share the concerns you have listed! My thought is that if they can repair all of the cosmetic issues, I think it will be a great boat to replace the 1997 SNOB 196 and am really looking forward to having the power in the H6 engine. I will still receive the balance of the warranty, which is at least 2 years on the drivetrain should anything crop up next season, and the dealer appears to have maintained it well as a demo.
