    Nice work JMitch811!
I was planning the same things last winter for my 08 210 but was over complicating it because I thought it might look funny doing the entire centre pad as it's quite wide. Looks like I was worried about nothing that looks tops!!! ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

my original plan was to do only a part of the back pad as well. Once I got into it I realized t would have been MUCH more difficult so I switched gears and did the entire pad

ID:	493353 The problem is that the fiberglass part of the pad is unfinished under the foam and vinyl... It also has that silly door access to the storage tray. Its all uneven and different materials. The foam pad under the vinyl hides all that. I was going to glass and gelcoat etc but decided the acrylic is a better way to go. Its one large piece of acrylic cut down to exact size of the existing shape that is glued and screwed to the existing fiberglass. The hatch is also not flat so we needed to heat it and unfortunately needed to run screws thru it. I knew I was going with the seadek so I just put the screws in a spot that I knew would be covered. Here is a picture of the hatch and the installed hatch before the seadek came in. The acrylic is a different white than the gelcoat but it isn't too bad once the seadek coved 95% of it. Wasn't worth the extra $$ color match and paint

Nice. That acrylic was a great idea. Where did you get it, get it cut, etc? Didn't know if that stuff is expensive, have never worked with it before.

Acrylic is 1/2 inch and prob cost about $300. Comes in a big sheet that you just route out your shape. Not sure where my buddy got it but comes in all thicknesses and sizes for all sorts of commercial uses. Seadek was about $450. Total project was around $1000

Man I haven't looked back on this thread for a couple of days thanks for the pics and the info awesome looking work on that jmitch just the ideas I needed. I have a OG 210 so ODB thanks a ton for that pic I remember seeing that somewhere and could not find it anywhere and talking with seadeck well... that was just a waste of time all I got out of that was the free sample pack they pretty much said yea the kits we have is what we sell or we can sell you a template kit and then cut it for you if it wasn't such a good looking addition I'd probably try something else but hate not to use it seems like everybody loves it and its holding up well

                            Hi Everyone,

I would hope to get some more ideas on this as I would love to convert my engine cover to a walk through. My boat is a 2005 210 Team edition. Here's where I am at so far,

                            1. engine cover removed and a small corner exposed, once vinyl is peeled back what you see is a rounded foam edge that goes all the way around cover and if you remove the foam edge you have raw unfinished fiberglass, this is the same unfinished surface for the top.

                            2. to have the top and sides of the engine cover modified to match the smooth white gelcoat that the underneath is done in would cost 4-5 thousand.

                            3. using acrylic will not hide the edging underneath once the engine cover is lifted as the vinyl covers this and I'm told acrylic will fade after exposure to the sun and yes the Seadek would cover most of it but the edging would still fade

                            4. a shop can reproduce my engine cover out of aluminum for 2500 Canadian, powder coated white and with the Seadek 900 Canadian, this seams to be my only option so far so total cost $3400
the Seadek would be a three color mat and would have the Nautique logo as Seadek now has permission to reproduce a few logos.

                            your thoughts folks??

Not sure where you got that number, but I would never pay anywhere near that for that modification. My gelcoat guy would likely knock that out for a couple hundred dollars.
