Yes of course perspective. Mostly thanks to my ever patient driver/wife, I have the great good fortune to own a little place on a lake and a 10 year old boat I bought 10 years ago to use on it. For someone of lesser income that would be extreme and out of reach. Just like this boat is for me.
I think I did hit on what I was bothered by after my initial ranting. While shaking my head at these prices, I was interested in the thread up until the nit-picking about little bits to shave off the cost and that brought me to my rant. If you're spending money on a luxury toy, just go all the way and pony-up for the whole shootin' match. You're obviously demonstrating that you have the money and/or the wherewithal to afford it so go big or go home as the saying goes.
It's the same thing in buying that big necessity of life, a house. I know realtors that shake their heads that a deal breaks down over a mere few thousand dollars difference that neither party can seem to get over.
But a big luxury item is not a house.

I disagree...yet agree at the same time. For myself, I completely agree with your logic. It's what I did, for the most part. I didn't NEED LED cupholders or underwater lights but I got them. I also didn't need the 550 motor, and did NOT get that because of the substantial cost increase. And I fully understand why others would not agree. Some people save every extra penny just to buy a "luxury item" such as this. Therefore all those little "extras" that aren't really necessary, can really add up to money they can spend elsewhere. I mean if a person had saved up, say, $150k and wanted to buy a G, they have to consider all the costs of the boat with extras, the trailer, taxes, insurance, etc. Therefore all those "extras" which may add up to $15k could make or break the deal. Why not skimp on the non-necessities and save that $15k and put that towards something else?! Not everybody is financing these boats. And not everybody buying these are "demonstrating that you have the money and/or wherewithal to afford it". Some people work very hard and maybe can barely afford to buy a G but it's what they really want so they make it work any way they can, even if it means shaving off a few "extras" just to afford the payments if the do finance it. Plus, some people still look at the bottom line and would prefer to obtain a number which they can pay off in a reasonable time so that they can allocate their money elsewhere. These are just a few of the points that other people may make while advocating the other side of your argument. Just because somebody buys an expensive object doesn't always mean they have more money than they know what to do with.

The way you worded your statement is kind of demeaning towards those that own G's.

Regarding rates, I am getting 2.99% from Wings on a used boat.

I agree with 96SNEFI and his posts.

Not that I am butt hurt, and you indeed should use this site to get feedback on the boat options etc, but sometimes it does come across a little off-putting when there is discussion of a few grand on an item that no one could argue is not off the charts crazy expensive. But I get it you are human too and you want feedback.

I certainly don't intend to openly, publicly disparage anybody and their financial choices under whatever financial situation they're in. Obviously good on ya to those that have the ability to make such a purchase for such an item. It's entirely none of my business what brings people to decide such things. We all make our own choices for whatever reasons we think valid.

Is 25% margin (before incentives, hold-backs, ad co-op, etc) for the dealers accurate on G models?

About 20 percent off MSRP. Your build is about 30 grand more than mine though.
