Huffy, you're probably on to something, but for those of us that enjoy overpaying and dealing with the political BS, let us continue this futile exercise in mental masturbation just a little longer.

That said, Mikeski, do you think 5% is a reasonable difference? It certainly isn't the $10,000 that someone mentioned.

My ordered to spec 2004, was only $4,200 more from my local dealer than the end-of-year, blow out price on a new 2003 model, exactly the same other than color, from a dealer 24hrs drive away. I thought it was worth the difference to buy from the local dealer and begin a strong relationship from the get go. Note: I think the 2003 had an equally cool color combo (all black w/ white 2nd).

All things considered, I think a 5% swing is reasonable.

5% on a 65,000 boat is not chump change.

Would you leave $3,250 on the sidewalk for the next guy to pick up?

Personally, I don't make enough money to just snicker at a 5% difference in price.

Also when I bought mine, it was a floor model, and the next year models were hitting the dealers. For me there was more like a 10 - 20 % increase in cost to get the SAME boat only one model year newer. Either you got a great deal on a order boat, or the other dealer was not willing to give you a good deal to get the stocked boat out the door.

Either way, shopping can save you enough to go else where.

I didn't leave any money on the table. I paid for what I saw as value.

Thank you all for a stimulating thread. I think we're done now; at least I am.
