I am starting my boat search and think I narrowed it down to a early 2000s 210 I was just wondering a few things. Like is it really a knee killer, how's the room for max 7 people, do you keep the ballast tanks or get rid of them, whats the difference between the reg. 210 and the team edition

I haven't ridden mine fully sacked out but it isn't a knee killer for me. 7 normal people fit easy behind the windshield. 2 fit in the bow. The hard tanks usually come out and are replaced by 750 bags in the vdrive locker and center tank gets replaced by 650 lb backseat bag. Front ballast is optional.Originally posted by skers85 View PostI am starting my boat search and think I narrowed it down to a early 2000s 210 I was just wondering a few things. Super sport is a vdrive with no tower ballast or cruise
Super air nautique often called SAN has tower, ballast and cruise
SANTE comes with updated vinyl and graphics. Usually a stereo, heater and shower.
All options are selectable from the factory. My super sport came wi a fct2 tower.

Brichter nailed it. Anything Super Sport or Super Air from 1995 through 2006, preferably with an Fct2 already on it. Tear out the ballast tanks and put 750s in the rear lockers, a 590 locker sack in the ski locker and you can put an integrated bow sac under the front seats. Slap an Acme 1578 on her and you've got a world class wake.Rob

wakeboarding is in general a knee killer. the SS/SAN/210 has a firm, steep wake and little more trough to the wake than some other boats. you're not going to hurt your knees behind a 210 and not some other wakeboat though. it's a great boat, one of the very best wakeboats.

I agree the "knee killer" thing is pretty overblown. It is a steep wake that might huck you up higher than a rampier wake would and the landing zones are shorter but for the most part I don't think you are any more likely to get hurt on this wake than any other.Originally posted by jbach View Postwakeboarding is in general a knee killer. the SS/SAN/210 has a firm, steep wake and little more trough to the wake than some other boats. you're not going to hurt your knees behind a 210 and not some other wakeboat though. it's a great boat, one of the very best wakeboats.
Any reason why you are excluding the 95-99 SS/SAN from your search? It is the same hull from 95-06. I'm clearly bias but I think 99 is one of the sweet spot years. You get the first year of the walk through bow with filler cushion and it still has the full wrap around seating in the main lounge. Also it doesn't have the Teleflex digital gauges that are known to go bad (hour meter was part of this so hard to know true hours) or the digital keypads or gateways that can be expensive repairs. There is something to be said for the simplicity of a keyed ignition and analog gauges. Good luck with your search.Shawn

My boats a 97 and its sexy as ****. Just a plain Jane super sport with a factory fct2 tower. Perfect pass was added later and I'm working on auto ballast. U can save quite a bit of money by going the 95-99 super sport route. Get more stereo and ballast for your buck!

In my experience, the early SS/SAN are much firmer wakes than the competitors and can be harder on you knees. Didn't stop me from owning one, I just switched to foiling after tearing up my ankle. Now

I have an 02 with 750's in the rear factory belly tank and add on bow sack under the front seats and the wake is like hitting a wall three feet tall. I love it but every time I hit it hard it makes me feel old. One of my friends won't even board with the tanks full. And I love my digital gauges.
