2013 Bimini question

I have just started noticing the faintest bit of chafe on the black accent stripe at the very top of the deck. I ratchet the cover literally until it won't go any tighter. I tow a pretty good number of miles in a year, and to just notice this now (the boat goes to the new owner in two weeks!) is great as far as I am concerned.

I towed with the tower down in the same stowed position as you a couple weeks ago. I went 1000km each way and have quite a bit of chafe on the transom. The cover rachets down below the rub rail but after traveling for some time the cover pulls up and ends up over the rub rail. Since mine is white above it did leave a couple of black lines from the rachet. I also had wear marks on the under side of the cover where the cover goes over the base of the tower that stays in place when the tower folds forward. I am afraid this may wear through the cover so I plan covering it with something soft when we do the same drive this weekend.

I still love this cover and think it's the best setup of anything out there. It's too bad the dual functioning covers have been eliminated.

If yours is coming up over the rubrail, something isn't right. Mine has never done that. Crank it down TIGHT.

I crank it as tight as I can. I have had the dealer do the same and the same thing happens. I drive at 65-70mph max unless it's a short burst to pass, which is rare.

Ugh, I don't trailer with the support poles in place. I didn't know you are suppose to. My previous boat you weren't suppose to. I am not sure I can get the cover on with the support poles in place. It is a tight fit.

Yep, that's the issue. The poles are adjustable height.

Do you set the poles lower to tow than when parked?

Wow, that is weird. I wonder how those broke off.

I absolutely love this cover design! I can't believe they aren't offering it in 2014. The 2014 covers are not able to be used in the two different modes (tower up or tower down) like the 2013 covers. You choose one or the other, and the cover will only work that way.

I got my 2014 G23 this weekend.... Cover is the same as 2013, no change as you described above.

So we just did the 1000km drive again but with the poles in this time and the cover stayed in place. There was noticeably less flapping of the cover where the zipper is, which is what broke off on my cover. Glad I know this now. Thanks.
