Im going to go out on a limb here and say not that big of a deal.

There are a ton of nooks in the hull of the boat, a lot of that water could have been inthe boat already. I have that much or more in my boat but also because we use out boat and water gets inside. Any rain, water from folks coming in the boat.... all of that goes into the bilge.


NOW, with that being said.... if you are just sitting... and your bilge pump running often??? yep you have a problem.

I am going to disagree. This is not from anyone climbing in or out (water temps were 50 degrees). No one braved the water. This is from some very light usage from the what the boat was designed. Little or no ballast was brought on. 2-6 people in the boat at any given time. Varying throttle speeds and loads. I am concerned because when I do load it up...what is it going to do then?

yes. This is the view of the water almost to the bottom of the t-handle after 3 hours on the water. Some just parked and riding(varying) speeds.

...and the strainer was wet around the top threads and the bottom of the 'cup'. There was some water on the 'hump' under the strainer, but did not see the drive unit while underway.

Yep thats what mine looked like with the water around there. Next time your out just watch the transmission area through that hatch when you are running 10+ mph.

Dealer is getting back to me re: my concerns. My concern is having to trailer it home for this "simple" fix. Easily $200 in gas trailering it back for a "simple fix" that IMhO should have been have been addressed at the shakedown ride. My dealer had it on the lake for several runs before we picked it up and there was some water in the bilge upon initial inspection. I had initially chalked it up to rain or water left in during prep work. I should have asked more questions, if this is to be the case.

Agh see this is where your gonna hate me. My dealer took my engine out. I don't know if they only did it on mine to repaint the engine mounts since they rusted because I live on the saltwater or that the engine is just in the way all together.

I got the boat back two weeks ago. It hasn't leaked since so I would say it worked.

I am taking a tour of a factory next week to see my boat in production, figure I will ask someone there and let you know if they have this problem figured out (on boats coming off the line now). Also seems a bit strange that they do not note problems during the initial water test.

I'm not sure what they do on the water test but I am guessing not much. My 210 had an engine issue when it arrived (cylinder 4 misfiring) and they couldn't fix it here and had to have PCM send a whole new engine.

I asked about the water test and they said they run each boat for half an hour. The weird thing was my boat had two hours on it when my dealer got it. I don't know if pcm runs them off the line or what.

I had 3.5 hours on the boat at pickup. The GPS log showed they had made several passes on the lake my dealer is on.

When the owner of the dealer went over the boat with us at the shakedown ride, there was water up to the bottom of the thandle

regardless of who and where the testing is being done, shouldnt they notice water in the bilge?

I am going to be using boat whips for my G23, Does anyone have any recommendations at how far apart they should be with the cleats or eye hooks?
