how far down does an f.a.e. hang down? i do 0 surfing. really just doing it for stereo listening reasons.

Usually it's set up to be about an inch higher than the end of your propshaft.

As I understand it, they are doing more than just adding tips for the 2014. In order for it to be reliable they had to change multiple things, which makes a retrofit kit / upgrade difficult. Not impossible, but not cheap/easy.

I'm giving up on something from the factory for my 2013 and ordering the FAE. It looks like Larry has a good solution for the installation and I liked how it worked on my 230.

I know the original G23 FAE attempts were getting pulled off the boat because of too much water pressure but it sounds like they may have solved that issue.

On my 230 there was no handling or wake difference. I had to send FAE measurements off the boat to ensure that the tube was centered so the water flows equally on each side of the exhaust tube. Not sure how it will be on the G but I'm hoping it will be the same.

FAE installed today. First test was only surf wake speed with no riders and about 30 minutes of run time. It stayed on with no problems. Install went pretty good but took a while because I measured more than I probably needed to. It helped to have a drill press and chop saw with a metal blade. I put extra reinforcement on the inside of the boat. The only problem that I have is a bolt is took long and stops the rudder from make a full cycle. I will cut it off tomorrow and post some pics.
