I will say one thing. With all the hype and the words/phrases like "revolutionary", "forever changed", "nothing like Gray, ever", Nautique may have set themselves up for disappointed consumers. It seems like they have hyped this thing so high that almost anything but a miracle will be disappointing. This is not to say that the boat won't be great... just to say that when you set expectations so high, there isn't much room to the upside. Quite the contrary, there is a lot of room to the downside. If I were Nautique, I probably would have played it a little more conservative so room to the upside still existed.

I am hoping that it meets all of our wildest dreams, however, I do so with some reservation.

1. dude gets paid by Nautique. not that that means the new boat aint the best thing since sliced bread, but............

2. maybe im reading to much into this or not remembering correctly. he said in earlier post that jeff quoted that the team had EVERYTHING to do with the construction, outside and in. then in this, he says the team was sitting in the boat and started to notice things that set it apart. well, werent they involved in every aspect. that comment alone just makes me feel like the is a bunch of talk from a pro repping the company that pays him.

we all know tiges are best, mc are best, nautiques are best, malibus are best, centurions are best, epics are best, sangers are best, etc etc etc.

this thing could be awesome, but the hype is comical.

It didn’t hit me until our 2nd day of shooting, with the helicopter buzzing above my head and my legs shaking from my burning quads. I’ve ridden hard in the past, and I’ve been sore in the past, but this is a completely new ball game. There have been some things invented in the sport of wakeboarding to take the sport to the next level: symmetrical boards, the high pole, the Flight Control Tower, and internal ballast. While we have seen some improvements in gear and boats in the past 10 years, there hasn’t been anything to change the sport like Gray in a long time. And I can assure you that there hasn’t been a boat like Gray, ever.

Sitting in the boat with the entire team taking in the realization of what this project resulted in was amazing. The more we sat in the boat and used it, the more little things we noticed had been put into it that set it apart from anything we had ever see before. We couldn’t get over it. It was here, it was big and it was awesome! I still can’t believe it’s real.

We all wonder what is possible. You’ll draw inspiration from other sports or get an idea from something you see and want to take it to the water. Those moments of sitting there in contemplation are where progression truly begins. Then, you get out on the water and the reality of it all hits you and it doesn’t happen. Gray is going to make these new dreams possible. When you are riding behind Gray, you have that feeling while you are on the water, that new tricks can and will happen. Gray can take you there and give you that extra time in the air to getter’ done and a huge landing to setter’ down. This boat will give us the opportunity for new directions and a new starting point to shape the future of our sport. Wakeboarding is about to be forever changed, and I’m super thankful to be a part of it. I cannot wait for you to get to experience this revolutionary new boat for the first time this Saturday, March 31st.

Aaron, I just did a google search for images of the moomba mojo. Profile reminded me of the fugly sister of my friend's old bu 23 lsv which did handle large water nicely. One of the head-on shots made me think of the old bat mobile, though.

Thats kind of a picklefork. The mojo is ugly though. I know Nautique will not put anything out that ugly. Congrats on the sale of your 210. Are you waiting for this boat to come out before ordering your new one?

absolutely. if they dont give you a reference point to anchor their assertion around, you have to assume it is relative. a "bigger" boat [in the framing of wake boats] is a boat that is at the larger end of each manufacturer's portfolio. to infer that it is a reference to the 230 or the ski nautique is just an assumption. even when this boat comes out it may be a bigger boat and the biggest boat in in CCs portfolio at the same time.

now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

If you look at history over the past 5 years CC has refined their existing line and done away with some of the models. They haven’t gone from having 9 models to 18. They are down to 4 hulls at this point with various options to streamline production. They’ve concentrated on a core set of boats and perfected them.

If I had to guess at the new boat, I’d bet on a new 23 foot Nautique. One hull, various options like the 200. Eventually the 226 and the 230 will merge into this. Look at the history.

Funny back in the day there was the ski, sport, and basically super sport. Then money fell from the sky like manna from heaven and everyone blew boats models out the door and got all fat and happy. Then the boat industry had to get smart again, and CC has adapted itself well.

As far a price points? CC is selling to a high end clients, period end of sentence. That’s their target market. Have a limited budget and want a Nautique, buy a used one. Then someday you’ll buy a new one. Simple as that, I wouldn’t ever expect to see a more economical Nautique again.

Maybe you haven't read this whole thread and/or haven't watched the videos. Several of their riders speak of a 'bigger boat' and many of us have been hearing the same thing even as long as 2 1/2 years ago. Do you think they were speaking relatively? A-la, bigger than a Ski Nautique. No. Bigger than the Super Air 230. Some of these things are easy enough to guess, but massively easier to guess when they've come right out and said as much.
