Sweet boat! Make sure you put some 3M clear film on the back to protect it from the rope. I did a thread about it somewhere. Do it before you ski it. Glad to help if needed.

That is a great looking boat. Is that "gun metal flake" or "silver metal flake".

The flake colors are premium colors and extra price, worth it i think

Closed Bow...

What makes you feel so strong about the OB. I was thinking CB because the bow is so low and prone to wash-over . This boat will only be used in early morning sessions with two people on occasions three.

We usually ski/boat from the dock so there is no need for the additional space of an open bow. From a safety/visibility standpoint the closed bow is the only way to go... Remember the original Ski Nautiques were closed bow and were one dimensional, meant for one thing... waterskiing...... Must've been a reason for that...

You'll probably want to kill me... but... My last personal Ski Boat was a 1992 MasterCraft ProStar 190... However... I spent most of my quality (footin') time behind anything from a 1977 all the way through a 1984-87 Ski Nautique. The best moments of my life! Now only memories...

There is no difference in visibility from OB to CB. I, along with many others, felt the same way you do until we spent some time in one. To each their own but the benefits of the OB outweigh the CB for me. We ski from the dock of a private lake too.

You can ski behind the original Nautique, I'll take this one! .....joke ;-)

visibility from OB vs. CB

There is no difference in visibility from OB to CB. I, along with many others, felt the same way you do until we spent some time in one. To each their own but the benefits of the OB outweigh the CB for me. We ski from the dock of a private lake too.

To clarify... there would be a difference in visibility if someone is sitting in the bow (OB) while underway...
