    Warm Water at drivers feet?

    2003 Air 216 with PCM 330 Excalibur

The carpet at the drivers foot well area is getting soaked by water coming up from underneath. The water is warm, like its from the engine. Looks like a hose runs forward from the motor going in that direction. Where is this water coming from? Its enough water that when you push with your hand the water pools. I can't get a good look into that compartment to see whats leaking.

Your heater core has sprung a leak, most likely.

You can take the heater out yourself, and replace the core. Heatercraft makes the heater for boats.
I recently replace the core in a series 300 heater, and the design of the core has changed, The old type was a honeycomb type of construction, and the new design is a copper tube, with aluminum fins.

Temporarily, you can get a double-hose barb connector and connect the 2 hoses going in and out of the heater core. Be sure to hose clamp them. This way you can continue to use your boat until you get a replacement heater (if you decide to even replace it). It's a good idea to keep one of these double hose barbs on the boat in case this happens again. Saved my arse once.

when it comes time that you decide how to fix it, there are several threads about replacements. you can buy a heater craft for 100+ or from Oreileys ect for 15-20.

as chexi suggested, i to took 2 sets water hose fittings to bypass my heater. i cut mine at the motor for ease to get to. i usually leave mine bypassed except in the months that its needed.

have fun at powell. i hope to go there one day.
