Just an idea. It seems there might be a chance the boat on a trailer could squeeze in the container if I take out the fenders and guide posts and mount narrow wheels and tires on it just for the shipping. Has anyone tried that? Or take out the wheels guide posts and fenders and just put casters on the axles and roll the boat into the container?

If you look at a trailer wheel and hub you will see that the spindle of the axle is almost level with the outer rim of the wheel. So it is not possible to use smaller wheels on the axle to make it fit. You have to remove axle and guards and even cut off the side steps of the trailer.

I stopped by a shipping company in Carson today. They specialize in shipping boats and cars in containers to Australia and Asia. They said they often ship to the Philippines. I saw several larger 23' Supras and a LSV being put into containers. They were building a wooden crate/support to hold them at an angle and also fitting the trailer in sideways.
It's near Long Beach/Los Angeles port, not San Francisco, but it wouldn't be a big deal to trailer it down here. And it might be more economical if this area is where a lot of them are being shipped from.
They didn't give me any prices, but gave me a card.

I'm in no way affiliated...I just work near their business and see lots of boats being shipped by them.
Good luck,
Jeff
