Ive been told 43 with the Excal, 47 with the 409. The Excal 200 that I saw a few weeks ago had an Acme 654 installed instead of the 422. I believe its the same prop with 1/2" less pitch.

I saw closer to 41 with the excal, stock prop not sure what it was, and slower out of the hole.

41 is pretty pathetic if that was GPS confirmed. Ouch. The boat did not appear to push that much water, so that slowness is surprising (and disappointing)

I wonder why the sluggishness-wider beam or something in the design that improved the wake.

Hole shot looked fine at the Worlds. Why low top end?... hmmmm...

IMVHO, with our boats, it's all about the torque. I pull my buddy who barefoots like a pro with no problem around 38 mph.

IMVHO, with barefoot it is not about top speed, 41 is sufficient for most. It's all about how you get to the skiers preferred speed and how easy it is to maintain. More difficult with a 200 vs a 196 because the boat is slower and the fact that the speedo is so difficult to see on a 200.

Not sure a standard boom is going to fit on a 200 because of how far back the windshield comes, might require a double bent boom.

I have no experience driving or skiing this boat, so I can't comment on its performance...but the windshield wrapping back behind the driver reminds me of an '89 mastercraft. Hate it. Feels confined and blocks the a/c (breeze).

On the other hand, I really like the redesign for easy access to the swim deck, and the side storage I like, too.

Well, there has to be something weird - prop, hull etc. since a 2010 malibu Response (about the same beam, weight etc.) gets 54+ mph (GPS confirmed) with the LS3.

And I can't wait till they remove that stoopid locker below the rear seat. Dumb idea that hinders access to the water.

Agreed! As I stated once before, that was my only disappointment with the 200. I've always hated other tow boats for lots of reasons, but the wrap around windshield sucks when you've grown up on and owned nothing but a Nautique.

LS3 is around 430 hp and 420 Ft/lbs of torque right? 54 mph is really, really fast. My 196 with the 409 "only" does a gps confirmed 49 mph. Top speed is not relevant anyway and the truth is I only ran it up once just out of curiosity. The 196, digital throttle and 409 make adjusting speed for footing or anything else that does not require ZO the responsive boat I have ever driven.

Well, the 196 has always been more of a displacmeent hull; I hoped the 200 had some plaing hull characteristics in it. I want top speed not only for multiple footers, but for outrunning storms on a very large lake.

You would be very pleased with the ride of the 200 on large open water, much smoother than a 196. Multiple footers, adults, would be a challenge behind a 200 with the excalibur.

Ok this might change a couple things. I wanted a limited with 343 and ZO, but I like to foot and I think having the availability of extra speed is a must. So now I'm thinking of SE with 409 and ZO. Or a plan B all together.

This boat is such a dramatic change we really need CC to put some information out on Speed, test with other props and get a couple footers behind the boat. I realize this boat was meant for the course, but there are a lot of people that ski and foot.

I would like to see 45 top speed with the 343, then check the hole shot. It would be nice to see 43 2 in the boat and a 200 LBS footing it. Maybe a 3 blade prop????

                              Just my testing wish list.

I don't remember, does the 200 have a hydrogate (I think it does)? If so, that will gain you a couple more mph if it is anything like the 196.
