I was always told that a nautique would never sink to the bottom due to the flotation. But I quess it can.

MY ADVICE IS TO GET A LAWYER. I WOULD TALK TO AN ATTY WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED AND I WOULD DO WHAT IS NECESARY TO TOTAL THE BOAT. AT A MINIMUM, YOUR TOAST ON RESALE AND MY TAKE IS THAT THE BOAT WILL CONTINUE TO GIVE YOU PROBLEMS, REGARDLESS OF THE REPAIRS. I WOULDN'T SIGN ANYTHING AND I WOULD TRY AND GET THE ADJUSTER TO AGREE THAT IT IS A TOTAL LOSS -PAY YOU THE $30,000 LIMIT AND NEGOTIATE TO KEEP THE BOAT. THATS WHAT INSURANCE IS FOR. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE PROACTIVE ON THIS BUT IF IT WERE ME, I'D BE PUSHING THE INSURANCE COMPANY-HARD.

There are third party adjusters(abitrators) that can work with you to get the most out of insurance. They are sharp. By the time they get into it with insurance paying off a total is the most beneficial solution for the insurance company and you get a payoff. This 3rd party works off a percentage so you won't net the full 30K but you get out quick and painless with a check to go shopping.

WakeSlayer, Smith Lake is clear and deep, luckily (I use that loosely) it was only 30 ft, the lake is way deeper than that.
lvnspeed, I know it may be ways from you, but Skiers Marine on Hwy 280 just south east of B'ham is great. They are a Malibu dealer, but have a great staff and I take my CC there. They are small and the customer service has been great to me,

I love Nautique, here is there responce to my email that I sent to them:
I can only say that the boat has been in this condition for 3 months. All of the electrical components will have to be replaced and to be honest the wiring would be suspect. I have sent your e-mail to the dealer rep regarding the service at Ryan Creek

I sent this to Nautique:
In your honest opinion based on the information provided should this boat be totaled? Will it ever be the same again?
In my opinion, a boat that has been sunk for 3 days and been idle for 3 months, the only thing worth salvaging is the hull and the deck.2003 226 LE

If that is the case, you certainly don't want to have to rely on the dealer to rebuild the boat. If anything, the insurance co should total it, and then see if it can salvage the hull and deck back to correct craft...OR, salvage it to STANDARD Boat company...LOL!

What? There are still lots of other salvagable parts on a sunk boat.Originally posted by Lvnspeed
