You could see it the diver said it was on the bottom the *** end of the boat was down on the bottom. He said it was standing up like it was wanting to go back to the surface. Trust me I dont want the boat back but it sounds like the insurance wants to fix it. I had it insured for 30,000 w/trailer. I am so sick about this I just want a boat its getting warmer and I want to be out playing.

You could also see the oil bulbling to the surface. You could also see the bimini too its red. It took us about 1/2 hour to figure out it was on the bottom it wasnt the first place I looked

I can't believe the bilge pump/battery/terminals/connectors ALL worked after a boat had been at the bottom of a lake for at least three days. That's crazy talk, but kudos to correct craft if that is the case. Crazy story.

I would be into the insurance... For a new boat. That's EXACTLY why you have it.

I wasn't calling BS, dude. I feel terrible for you. Just a weird story, and it prompts a lot of questions. Last one I have is did they catch the dix that tried to steal your boat?

There was a recall in '02 or '03 on flotation, they put extra under the front deck. Was this done to your boat? Was there something heavy in the boat that was not standard equipment that made it go negatively boyant?

You can negoitate with the insurance company. Push them to total the boat. If the insurance company insists on repairing your boat, do NOT sign off on the claim until everything is 100% back to where it was before.

There are an unlimited amount of problems that can arise from your boat being underwater for three days.

                  Good luck.

Check your policy and your state laws. Insurance claims have to be dealt with in a timely manner. Failure on the insurance company to rectify the situation could result in greater payoff to you. Do your home work. You have the time since your not out boating. Sorry for you dilemma and good luck

These dealer horror stories are giving me a head ache; and the closest dealer to my home is almost 3 hours away.

Lvnspeed, I have not personally used them for service yet, but Blue Creek Marine In Dadeville, AL near Lake Martin is probably your only bet in AL for a decent service department. I'm not sure if he is still there or not but talk with Tim White @ 256-825-8888. He has been in the business for a long time and was very willing to help me out on some issues I was having when I was looking for another dealer. Ryan Creek has been going down hill for a long time. Like Chad said, Alabama Watersports here in Athens isn't any better.

Hope you get everything taken care of in a timely enough manner to get back on the water. Like the others said though, your probably better off cutting your losses and looking for another boat. Yours is gonna take so much time and effort it won't be worth it. Plus you will probably always have issue down the road.

I believe the floatation involves not sinking lower than the deck; and the length of time is established in the USCG regulations. I have heard something like eight hours (not for eternity). LVN, I wonder if CC considers the boat "totaled" in regard to it warranty. You may want to inquire and you may get it in writing if they agree. Sometimes a business does this IF THEY AGREE after looking at the pictures, etc... ER

Speaking from experience the boat will never be the same. My last boat took on as much water as the second pic and even though water did not get into the engine it got everywhere else. gas tank, tranny, stereo and speakers gone. But within 2 years other things started to pack it in. Steering cable, starter, alt. So it was time for the boat to go.... However the malibu response never went all the way down. and once all the water was pumped out we drove it back to the ramp!

I agree with the other posters, don't accept a half baked repair. I would insist on a minimum of a new engine, transmission, wiring harness, gauges, steareo, upholstery including foam, steering cable, throttle and shift cables, throttle control box, perfectpass computer, engine ecm, perfectpass smart timers, perfectpass rope switch, Steering helm, keyless gateway box, keyless touchpads, remove flush and reinstall gas tank, fuel control cell, low pressure fuel pump, heater blower motor I am sure if you add all of these up it is way more than your $30,000 coverage. There are quite a few really nice '08 promo's out there right now, get it totaled, add a little cash to the settlement and get an almost new '08. Many states waive sales tax on a replacement for a total.
