Well, I think 70 miles SE of you would be about Prescott, WI which is where she lived. Lacking any other knowledge of what was 70 miles SE of you, that's all I had :-) It is a great story, now anyway. The ending wasn't so much fun at the time and the result of loosing access to her dad's Nautique was almost more unpleasant than loosing her.

ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. That is extremely funny.
I jokingly rotate my boat's position on the list of the top four things that l love the most. Wife, kids, boat. Usually in that order...

I was referring to CJ's Inboard in Prior Lake. Cal passed away a few years ago. RIP. He was a great guy.

Do you have any pics of the other person 70 miles SE of me?

First of all it sounds as though the boat was not prepped at all, and you better check all of the plugs in the block and the plug on the v-drive. On the other comments Correct craft does not pay the dealers to prep the boats. And the factory does not really train us , as we normally have to use our own knowledge to set up the boats and stereos. Now at our place we use a check list that we developed a long time ago to prep the boats the way we want them to be. Do not take this wrong but I will tell you that I do have a very good experience with nautiques as I have been working at the same nautique dealer for 18 years now and I have meet and know alot of the people that work at CC.

there should be a brand wide prep procedure given to every dealer i think. and as far as stereos go i think it should always be outsourced to someone who knows what's up or the customer should be told straight up "we don't do this much, it might not be what you have in mind"
isn't the prep price worked into the new boat price?

Agree! When you buy a Nautique you expect a certain level of care. A checklist & training on how to do the checklist should be a minimum. There were a handful of fairly minor issues when we picked our '08 up last year that I would think would be covered with a good checklist. Dealer cheerfully took care of them, but it'd be nice (and comforting) to not have had to ask for them to be taken care of. CC should set out some minimum standards and insure that dealers adhere to them. Maybe even establish A, B, C level dealers so that customers know what each can/should and cannot provide. Our dealer was up front with us about not doing any custom audio, lighting, ballast work. Unfortunately the place he recommended sent up about a thousand red flags during my first two conversations with them so needless to say I'm doing it all myself.

CC customer service rep told me personally that new boats that come shrink-wrapped to dealers get a prep fee credited or discounted off of purchase price.
