My dealer tells me that they can order the Nautique IPOD (the one given away to early purchasers of '05's) for $268 through April 30th. Is that a good price for an IPOD ? What features does this model have ? Thanks

Hmmmmm, I believe the Nautique ipods are the MINI 5 Gig version. For that price, you can get the 20Gig Ipod version. The only nice thing about the Nautique Ipod's is that, they are engraved with the Nautique logo.
So, ask yourself, is $268 for an engraved Mini 5 Gig Ipod worth it ?
If you ask me, the answer is NO. The 5 Gig will be too small and you will
outgrow it very quickly, needing more music space. I have the 20 Gig version and we already have used up 7 Gig's worth of music, Plus you
can always have your 20 Gig engraved with the logo.
Hope this helps.

My .02, Apple makes 2 mini's now a 4 gig($200) and a 6 gig($250). First off, find which ipod CC is selling. If it is the 6 gig mini, $268 is a good deal. If it is a 4 gig it is a bad deal. And if its the old 4 gig (pre Feb15th, 2005) it is a really bad deal. The old 4 gigs sold for 250 and had 8hrs bat. life, the new 4 gigs sell for 200 and have 18 hrs. bat life. Decide how much music you have, and how much you want on your ipod. I have about 35 gig on my mac. and I have a 20 gig, so I just leave off stuff that I don't think I will listen to at the time. The same goes for the 4 or 6 gig. The mini rocks, but you are limited 1000 - 1500 songs, not too shabby. If you have a lot more songs than that, just spend some time making some good playlists, and update when the songs get stale. I would trade my 20 gig with 12hrs batt. life for a 6 gig with 18hrs, if i could, even though I have 35 gig on my mac. - Alan (mac addict)

The one that comes with the boat also includes charger, USB cable, Firewire cable, charger, etc., I think there were four little boxes in the one bigger box. It is really the wife's now, she had to get something out of the deal!

That explains which ipod mini cc gets. The new ipod mini's do not come with a firewire cable. They are USB 2.0 compatible, which is better than Firewire.

Yes that price is a bit steep for a 5 gig,
But the larger I pods are just that Larger. It seems that they are making more add on's for the mini then the regular I pod. More holders and Skin's and charging base's ect. So in that light the Mini is a great option.
BTW I.M.O 5 gig;s is plenty of music.
I have a 30 gig and im only 8 gig's full. Im sure I could slim it down to 5 gig's and not miss to much IMO its not how much music you can load on your I pod its what you load on it. what good is a 60 Gig I pod with 59 giggs of crap.
Stick to the music you listen to and you can get away with a shuffle (1 gig). If your a person that wants to load all your old AC/CD CD's and every Williy nelson album ever made then get the 30 gig. If you want to load up more than enought music to rock the weekend away then the 5 Gig's works just fine

Well put whitechocolate, with my full 20 gig, I can not just hit shuffle, Wynton Marsallis is not too good to do a raley to. So instead I spend the time on my computer to make playlists, which I would be doing if I had a 4 or 6 gig pod.
