    High Current alternator upgrade PCM 343/409

    Has anyone found a high current alternator replacement for their motor to handle a big sound system? I know that PCM purposely "white boxes" their 150A upgrade but I know there has to be a place to order one other than from the manufacturer. I would like to find one more than 150A if possible to replace the current 100A

      I have been asking the same question. There is a shop in Austin, TX that does this utilizing your stock basket. I have been debating doing this and bridging several batteries together per perko switch setting.

          mechman and many other makes alts for these boats. its just a standard GM size. I would recommend an external regulator, like the proisocharge from promariner. highest output i have seen is 330-350 amps. the stock 100 amp makes probably 50 amps max when running on plane and hot once you take in account the loss from heat and RPM.
