Hello all, new here and about to order a P23 and was wondering if anyone has any real world experience with the Wake Sub option and if you feel it's worth it? I just worry that it'd be more bass than we'd want in the boat without the rider actually noticing it. I demoed a G23 and was happy with the setup there so I think in the P23 I wouldn't need the Wake Sub option but no way to know for sure as it's not in dealer stock near me.

its worth it for a resale point and worth it from an audio experience point. pointless to have it as an option IMO, unless you are deaf.

Hahaha, well, I do have some significant hearing loss in one ear and my wife thinks I'm deaf. That said, we usually have at least a couple of kids under the age of 6 on the boat with us and I do not want to give them hearing loss so we don't really crank it too much. I was more wondering about the effectiveness of the sub from a surf rider perspective, and hopefully it doesn't make it too loud in the boat just to make it so the rider can feel it.Originally posted by distinguishedmotorsports View Postits worth it for a resale point and worth it from an audio experience point. pointless to have it as an option IMO, unless you are deaf.

I suppose that is the question... if it were, wouldn't it be standard like all the other things that make it so special? There are very few options on the boat, which is cool... but I'm trying to decide if it's worth the $8K additional price for 2 subs. If you take the approach of "it's $8k out of a $300k+ MSRP that's nothing" then ok, I get it. But, if I'm trying to figure out if it works as well as the marketing says it does with no real reviews as far as I can find.Originally posted by xlair View PostIsn’t the wake sub one of the main things that makes the paragon so special? I have a friend with a P23, and his exact quote was " HaHa, Wakesub is CRAZY!! Don't turn it up too much!" which leads me to believe it works great. Also you can turn it up or down as you need, so if it gets to be too much, just turn it down, or off for the little kiddo's.

i heard it at the boat show. it seemed to work well. i also remember various threads where people talk about how awesome it is. I personally have no direct experience.

I listened to one today. Coming from a guy that used to LOVE the bass in my rides its pretty weak. This is not gonna make you deaf bass at all. It does make the stereo sound really full and outstanding. We played some classic rock and some pitbull. Both sounded outstanding. Not an overload of bass and all four subs where set to +7....
Remember you have zone control for front, mid, tower, and subs mid and back. You set the settings how you want.
I would get it if its in the budget.

Good to know, the dealer has one to test out on Friday and it has that option so I'll hear it from the wave next week and be able to decide then.

totally think its worth it - funny thin is i have a '21 GS24 and was talking to a stereo shop (quoted $4-$5K) as I want a stereo you can hear - he said the would add 2 subs essentially in similar location as the P23 - ie near back lockers to really fill it out - only thing i have to make sure is to the volume knob so i can dial it in.
