Okay, I have 4 JL tower speakers (white) and the boat is garaged 6 months out the year. I tow it 1 hour to and from the lake nearly every weekend. Do I really need speaker covers if I’m not having any issues with bugs or damage from towing?

I have them on my tower speakers and could not be happier with SpeakerSox covers. I never take mine off the speakers. I even got them to emboss the Nautique logo on them. Great company to work with .Originally posted by Polidori View PostOkay, I have 4 JL tower speakers (white) and the boat is garaged 6 months out the year. I'd agree with the above. I have SpeakerSox in the past which did the job but this time around I went with the JL covers which I'll have to remove while in use so we'll see how that goes this year, but in general tower speakers are expensive and the UV will fade the finish at a minimum. I know they're supposed to be rated for outdoor use but IMO covering something so expensive seems to just make sense to me.
There was a trend a few years ago where people went cover nuts covering board racks, mirrors, winches and just about everything else you could make a cover for. I never went that far but adding protection for a pair of $1200 speakers works for me.

Well bturner I sort of did that. I purchased vertical logo board rack covers from SpeakerSox as well as speaker covers because I liked dealing with Jim so much . Great guy. Very cheap investment to covered some of your expensive boat STUFF.Originally posted by bturner View PostI'd agree with the above.
