Running Wire for Tower Speakers

Just curious if when running the wire for the tower speakers, has anyone drilled straight through the front of the tower (instead of drilling a bigger hole in the top of the flat bar) to get the wire from the round bar to the flat bar on top of the tower? The hole would be much smaller and you could just insert a small plug into it. Hopefully everyone understands what I'm talking about, if not, I can provide a picture.

Ckligor, I think you misunderstood what I was asking. It's no problem to run the wire up to the top of the tower in the round bar, however, going from the round bar to the flat bar on top of the tower you need to drill a hole. The majority of the time, I have seen people take a holesaw and make a large enough hole in the flat bar (close to the round bar) in order to drill through the round bar on the inside to get the wire through. Once they have the wire into the flat bar, they put a plastic plug in the hole drilled by the holesaw. Instead of taking this approach, I was thinking of drilling through the front of the tower (i.e. the round bar) and straight into the flat bar, thus only having one small hole to plug up.

Do you really need to run thru the oval bar? My speakers hang off the rear round tube, but my speaker wire comes out the back of the front round tube ( just to the left, backside of your red circle) and plugs into the speaker on the rear tube.

Anyone got any pics of what they are talking about? Im in the middle of drilling and wiring tower speakers, i have drilled into the flat bar next to were the light wire comes out, then will run the wire up the flat bar and out (drilling on the side of the flat bar) and into the front round bar-not sue if that makes sense-ill post some pics.

Mine are like what Darrel is explaining. Probably not the best installation, but acceptable for me. Especially as my bimini is always open

Grant had to do this when he installed his tower flag, his solution will work for you if you must have the wires coming out of the rear bar. Mine are done like Redelf's too, IMO it's not worth the trouble to move them to the rear (probability of chaffing issues too).
