Clarion xmd1 removal 2003 SAN

So I am replacing the xmd1 with a newer model clarion with Bluetooth and I can't seem to get this wire unhooked. I'm pretty sure it's the wired remote wire. Anyone know the trick here? I didn't want to just force it and screw it up and my old remote not work at all, I know I'm going to lose some functions with the adapter from 6-8 pins. I circled the wire I'm talking about. This is not my picture, mine is still plugged in

The small one or the big one on other side? I swear I tried that I thought maybe it just needed a special tool

Nevermind, got it. Put a flat head between the two and twisted it and it popped it loose
