2005 Air Nautique SV211 TE Stereo Upgrades

I just purchased my first nautique, 2005 Air Nautique SV211 TE. The stereo is all original, and just looking to see what i can do to up grade what is already there without spending an arm and a leg. All speakers are working and in good shape, just wanting a little more sound and bass. The subwoofer works, but doesnt seem to be to loud. Does anyone have any suggestions to upgrading a sub using the existing amps that sounds good.

Also wanting to change out the Stereo Head Unit. It does not have an AUX plug in, and thought that would be nice to have or just get one with bluetooth. Didnt know if I needed anything special to hook up all the existing wires or if they will hook up to a new headunit just like the existing unit.

Any help is appreciated as I am new to the marine Electronics!!!

Head unit with Bluetooth would be a great choice. Make sure it has preamp outputs. That stock sub location is terrible, with the wrong type of sub in that enclosure. There are all sorts of audio conversations on here you should check out. Great boat, have fun!

2005 should be the xmd3 stereo. It has aux input. Should actually be in the glovebox. Otherwise back of stereo. Could just get a JL Bluetooth adapter for $40 and hook into aux input instead of a new HU

When changing the deck, assuming you have the remote at the helm, that will need to be replaced or abandoned. If replacing, the bezel will also need to be replaced and is available at nautique parts. Front speakers are likely driven from the deck and the 4 cabin speakers + sub off the amp. Getting all the speakers running off amps will also help with sound quality.

Spend the arm and leg. You'll save in the long run. I've done it on a budget and ended upgrading ...or spending twice.

Another option is to just get the wet sounds420 Bluetooth eq and 2 rev 10's and a good amp this year. And next year do the cabin speakers and amp.

          Just my .02

There is only the one aux wire coming out in the glovebox as you can see in the picture and it is plugged into a weird blue plug in. There is an empty USB coming from the back of the headunit, and I got a USB adapter to plug into that so that i could run an auxiliary to my phone. But when i plugged that in, it said USB error. Not sure what thats all about. I looked on the back of the headunit and theres no empty space for anything to be plugged in. So im running out of options except to replace the head unit, that i really dont want to have to do because i dont want to lose the control at the steering wheel, or a bluetooth adapter. Those will be my next ones to try.

PO likely modified that glovebox adapter. I posted a reference to what the plug would have looked like originally in your "Aux Chord" thread. If all you are looking to do now is use your phone/ipod for music, go BT like XL mentioned or change the glove box adaptor back to RCA jacks.
