    Amp settings where to start

Can anyone give me help with my amp i have fitted to my SN 1994. We have just fitted an amp to the boat with a set of tower speakers and a set in the boat. We are running the boat speakers off the head unit and the tower speakers of the amp which we have bridged. I have two question.
    1. Can anyone explain exactly how to bridge my amp?
    2. Does anyone now what way i should set the amp at the start because i am not sure about all the settings. Eg the filters and bass boost etc

    Need more information:

    1. How many channels is the amp?
    2. What kind of tower speakers are you going to be hooking up?
    3. What brand and model number is the amp you are using?

The answer to your questions can not be safely answered until you answer these questions..

you can bridge that amp to be a 2,3 or 4 chanel amp. are you running a sub? how many tower speakers? crossover should be hpf on any speaker thats not a sub(all interior and tower) crossed over at 120/ 150, lpf on sub at 80/120 bridgeing will be the pos and neg on the outside of 1/2 and 3/4 if that makes sense.

how many tower speakers? if 4 run 2speakers to chanel 1 and 2speakers to channel 2 that will be putting the ohm load to 2 ohm stereo then you could run a sub on 3and 4 bridged. 1/2channel should be on hp and 3/4 will be lp.the sub needs to be a single coil 4 ohm speaker. this is a set up I use in alot of customers boats hope it helps

We have two tower spreakers which i have bridged from channel 1/2 and 3/4. Is this making it run on 2 Ohms now? Can you explain in more detail about the low pass filter and high pass filter for the channels?
                Cheers Rob

Ok, just hook up the two tower speakers to the amp....bridge the 4 ch of the amp to to channels (say something if you don't know how to do this). This will be sending more "watts" of power to each speaker but will still be only a 4ohm load, which is ideal for most smaller speakers like the internal boat and tower speakers. Set the amp crossover to HPF (high pass filter), which will allow the mid and high frequency signal to pass through to the tower speakers (you don't want the low frequency, ie bass, to go to smaller speakers like tower speakers). any more questions?
