Simple question, is it worth getting and signing up for Sirius Radio for the boat? I've already got a 5 gig. MP3 player, but no matter how big your iPod may be, you are still hearing the same songs over and over. That would be the only reason why I would consider it. Why or why not is it worth getting? Thanks in advance.

RE: Satellite Radio
I have XM on my boat and I love it. I already had XM when I got the boat so I just got another docking station installed it on the boat and now when I get to the river I just take the SkyFi out of the truck and plug it into the boat.Life is Short, Live it!

That brings up another question...
Is it worth getting XM even though the boat is already Sirius ready?I Nautique, therefore I am.

Like I said I already had the XM SkyFi unit, so all I had to do was install the docking station on the boat and when I launch the boat I take the SkyFi from the truck to the boat. I would never pay for Sirius or XM for the boat alone as It doesn't get used that often. With the setup I have I only pay for service on one unit and use it in two places.Life is Short, Live it!

No I got the jacks and hooked it up to the Aux. input jacks on the MD3 headunit. Then on my remote when hit the button and go from CD to Radio to Aux, on Aux I am on the XM. I also used the little small antena and used double sided tape to just attach it to the dash right in front of the control pod. It picks up the XM signal thru the windshield and the bemini top with no interuptions.Life is Short, Live it!

Re: Satellite Radio
I find this hard to believe that you hear that same songs over and over again with the Ipod. I've got a 15 gigger and never hear songs over unless I want to hear them. You may want to set a playlist on the 100 least played songs. I set mine up and have yet to hear a same song twice.Originally posted by AbunDiga909Simple question, is it worth getting and signing up for Sirius Radio for the boat? I've already got a 5 gig. Turbourbo, I don't exactly understand what you mean or how that would help by making a playlist of just your 100 least played songs. Seems to me that those would then become the most played songs.
Anyway, to clarify things up, my Rio is only 5 gig. Which is plenty. But not outrageously large that when you put all the songs on shuffle and let it go, that you haven't heard the song in a while. I actually only have just under 400 songs on mine, and frankly, not all of them or worth listening to walking down the street and even less are worth listening to on the boat. If I were to make a playlist of just the boat-worthy songs, the list would be very small.
The point of getting satellite radio for me would be so I could maybe just leave it on the classic rock station for example, listen to some great songs that I don't have on my Rio and songs that I haven't heard in a while that is really nice to hear. But, no matter how good a song can be, if you've heard it enough times, it gets boring.
All in all, nothing like hearing your favorite song on the radio even if its on your iPod or Rio. Can't explain why, just is.I Nautique, therefore I am.

No can do. Believe me, I would rather be there, but my mom is flying back from a vacation, and she asked me to pick her up at the airport that day. My boat is still in 5,000 pieces anyway (still working on the ballast system).Originally posted by FatBoyYep, you should come down Jeff. I bought the roady 2, I use it at home, car, truck, suv, boat. Docking station for the home just antenna's and adapters for the vehicles. Have not used it in the new boat yet but it's one of those things like TIVO once you have it you come to expect it. The SkiFi requires a docking station, when you are talking about 5 uses it gets expensive, the roady just uses standard adapters.
