Want to install an Alpine CDA-9886M in my '06 220...

I have the factory double din Clarion and I have a few questions:

    1) Where can I find a double to single din housing for the new Alpine receiver?

    2) Can I still utilize the driver side Clarion in-dash stereo remote or does it become useless?

    3) Those of you that have this stereo in your boat, what are your impressions. I am mainly doing it to boost sound quality without having to run additional power via amplifiers. I'm already running an 850.4 Kicker to my NVS Entity tower speakers and a 750.1 to my JL12W7, and the factory Clarion amps are all powering my interior speakers. Everything is then routed over to the Wetsounds WS-420. I also like the versatility of the Alpine receiver, and for $220 online, it's not too bad for the wow factor.

      1) Try JC Whitney - they have hundreds of bezels that they carry
      2) No - they did just come out with the new wired remote for the Alpines - there are a couple of guys on here that have them on order, they have been delayed in production for awhile now.
      3) I am either putting in a 9886 or the X100 - I cant decide yeton which I want, but everyone seems to be very happy with the 9886

        flaudia402,

Email us and we can send you an adapter mounting plate.

The Clarion remotes will not work. Alpine's new display remotes are roughly the same size if you have the 3-inch round. We stock these and are awaiting a shipment momentarily.

The Alpine receiver is excellent in every sense. But sicne you have an EQ, you'll see little to no benefit from the Alpine's stronger preamp section.

I have the non marinized version of the 9886 and its great. The only complaint with these is they are slow on bringing up the titles to songs on the display when using an ipod. Other than that the 4 volts are nice and adjustability and functionality are simple. I wish I would have waited and bought the M version as mine does not have the wired remote option. With the 2000 Ski Nautique having a cover over the stereo the remote they send with the 9886 is virtually useless as you have to lift the cover to hit the sensor on the receiver.
