Upgraded from a xmd1 to cmd4a and was looking into the Clarion CCAIPOD ipod connector. On crutchfield it doesnt say if its compatible with the iphone 3g. I was wondering if any has or can try this out.

Actually Crutchfield says it DOES NOT work with Iphone 3g. Scroll down in the Hands-on Research tab and you will be able to confirm my finding.06\' SANTE 210

It's not a problem. Your ipod runs on 5V and your iPhone on 12V (or the other way around...can't remember). You need a simple adapter and you'll be able to charge and listen just fine.Originally posted by liquid-dietYea i saw that, but sometimes that means it just wont charge the iphone, doesnt always mean it wont control it.
I have this one and it works great. It's a little ugly, but it works well.

I run the CMD5 with CCAIPOD. It works quite well, I just select a playlist then plug it in. I can skip forward, jump back, or pause using the remotes. It plays fine with the Iphone, just does not charge the iphone. I have heard the scosche adapter does the trick but have not tried it (see link posted above by baylor).
