Stereo Insurance Claim..... what to buy

    Hi,

We had our stereo stolen out of our boat last week...... they stole from our 2003 SANTE

    - 2 amps
    - 1 sub and fiberglass sub enclosure
    - 1 x 240v pa amp for pa towerspeakers
and damaged our head unit trying to take it out.

We have lodged our insurance claim and are at to point of getting quotes to replace the gear taken.

We will get a new clarion head unit to replace the old clarion one and also a new pa amp as it was only new and we can get a replacement.

Not being too much of a stereo buff, I was hoping to get some suggestions off people for what brand/model they would replace the above equipment with......mainly the sub and amps.

The sub was a 15inch and the boat speakers are the standard 2003 SANTE speakers, i think they are kicker.

    Thanks for any suggestions

RE: Stereo Insurance Claim..... what to buy

I just used Kicker's new 5 channel marine amp MX700.5 in my boat and it's great. 4 x70 at 4 ohm and 1 x 420(at 2 ohms which is how I'm driving the 10" Polk Momo dual voice coil sub).

I also have recently used the same amp as Shane. Nice to only have one amp versus two. Now I want to replace the factory clarions, but nobody has responded to my post on whether to use Polk Momo or Wet Sounds.

          Thanks.

We're currently getting a quote from the local audio shop for the following.

          - 1 x Clarion CMD5 Watertight Marine CD Tuner
          - 1 x Clarion CMRC1BSS Watertight Marine Remote
          - 1 x Clarion M301RCABLE Marine Remote 3m Cable
          - 1 x Clarion ipod interface to suit

          - 1 x Rockford Fosgate Power Amp
          ‘T600-4 600 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier’
          - 1 x Rockford Fosgate Power Amplifier
          ‘T1500-1bd 1500 Watt Class-bd Mono Amplifier’
          - 1 x Rockford Fosgate Power Subwoofer
          ‘T215D4 15" POWER T2 4-Ohm DVC Subwoofer’

Going to see if the ‘T600-4 600 Watt 4-Channel Amplifier’ will power the tower speakers ok. if it does we'll probably get another just for the tower speakers.
