Love the helmet. Wish I would of thought of that before I took a head shot from the fin on Monday. I now have a 3" super glued gash on my beany waiting to mend. Helmets from here on out...
Awesome picture, you look about 10' tall with that mast out of the water.

Oooh. Sorry to hear that. Hope you're doing ok now. The fear of whacking the foil is real. I'm in the process of adding a first aid 'gash kit' to the boat as a just in case.

The helmet is kinda comical. It's an old protec model from like the early 90's that I used to wear when we were working on kneeboard flips. It's sat unused in the gear closet for years...it's still in good shape and now it's on it's second life.

The only close call I've had to date was with the handle. I bailed off the board but didn't toss the handle at the same time. As I hit the water, my forearm went through the triangle space and the boat then snapped the handle off my arm. Got a decent bruise from that one. Definite eye opener. Weird things happen when you're up high huh?

You're right on picture perspective. It looks odd - the boat is kinda hidden behind the wake and looks low while I'm looking super huge riding the wake bump.

What kinda setup are you guys riding these days?

"Weird things happen when you're up high huh?" That could have several meanings, lol.
We just got a new e-foil, thought we would make a learning curve go of that before jumping on a wake foil. 1st ride on Monday taught me respect. Better me than one of the crew, helmets for all!
I could tell there was something a little funky going on with that helmet, ha. Protec has always made a good beany cap.
If your not walking away with a scrape, bruise, or blemish, you're not riding hard enough (I keep telling myself). My wife just shakes her head, not that she hasn't taken on a few war wounds.
        Good times, fun times.

e-foil huh? Been wanting to try one of those. Curious what you think after riding it for a bit. I've always wondered if I'd get bored after a while or not.

Wake foiling has been a progression for sure. So much to learn and unlearn. The unlearning starts with not using the approaches you've used with every other gizmo you've gotten up on. And then learning how to dial in your foil ride is like the black arts meets obscure physics. Oh...and how to manage this huge awkward piece of equipment. We're getting there but it's a journey.
