We've had the place for about 9 years and I've noticed it start to get a little more crowded but not even close to what you see on the Atlanta lakes. We're way up in the north-east corner by Chocolocco creek and there are still some good areas to ski and wakeboard, even on the weekends (except holiday ones). My wife's from Anniston and we have some friends of hers from high school with places in the same cove - we really enjoy it - if they'll just get the water up.

i would suggest the central florida area. great weather, tons of lakes, etc. only problem is everyone down there rides so you need to find a private lake. lake alfred area is kind of nice. definitely some nice homes on private lakes and only 45 minutes from orlando and tampa.

    Alabama - Logan Martin Lake

Here's a couple of pics of my place on Logan Martin (between Birmingham and Anniston). Very uncrowded lake with great neighbors.

Core-rider is right......... no reason to look here in Alabama. Best keep moving, nothing to see here folks!

    lake life

I moved out of California 5 yrs and went to Orlando Florida. It was the best move I have made in a lone time. You have so many lakes and the weather is great HOT but great. Coming from Danville you should be able to find a great home down here if you decide to move this way. Other bonuses are Mickey and the factory is down here also.

Take a look at this website, it's the largest realtor on the lake, will give you a great idea of what you can get for what price. If you need advice on a realtor, let me know.

I'd love to send you photos of the lake once we get some, this will be our first summer out there. Our house is a small one bedroom one bath that we're in the process of adding 2 more rooms and a bath onto. We'll have just over $200,000 in it when all is said and done for a great lot with a real nice house. We bought it for the lot and the house that is there is actually redone nicely on the inside, just needs new siding and more square footage.

Any how, take a look at the website and let me know if you need any help.

LOL!! Hourglass, you live in LA (Lower Alabama) and you are concerned about the culture and quality of life in Texas? You are close to Seaside and Watercolor. That is a big plus.
