    LF Trip

Looking for any review or comments on the LF Trip, or suggestions on a board to try in a 130 length.

I have a rider in the family (about 105 lbs.) wanting a board with a more loose feel than the Hyperlite State he tried in a 130 cm.

We don't have Trip but we do have State 125 and they do have a lot of traction.

Just by reading the site and remembering some looks at it, I don't think the Trip is going to be very loose. More loose than the State but not by much. The Trip has the bat tail which I don't think will help.

We also have a Watson Classic 13x and it appears more loose....from me watching the rider. Maybe you could try a WC 131...the bindings are great with the wrap around tongue.

We may have a video on the web....I'll have to check. PM me your email and I can email you a raw video file.

Thanks - will send something (very late) tonight but of a a bigger board and rider. They are of a guest/minor so please do not distribute.

Forgot to add the most slippery will be the Nemesis but the size might be too small. Not sure the biggest size available but it would be great for surface tricks. I bought a small Nemesis on closeout for my son thinking it would be easier for him to turn in the air but he is still too chicken to try an air 180. His 1 wake jumps are a bit more difficult with it because of the small size. I suspect landings are harder, too. He gets the most air on the big 144 we have even with the bindings not adjusted.

But on the Nemesis, his surface tricks are like butta' and he can bunny hop on it better. I'll look at the size next time I'm at the boat. I think it is 111 and I'm pretty sure Jr.AirTool is pushing 100 now.

He probably just needs more time/growth/strength to pull off an air trick.

No worries with your guest. Would like to see the WC as it is on the radar screen now, too.

Yeah, last year he could slide his old Motive 119 around and slide anyway he wanted (we switched out the big Poly fins for .8" P Wings), so it was maybe similar to the Nemesis. Sunday was his first ride on the State 130 (kind of a big jump in size but he is right in the sweet spot for the weight range) and he could surface 180 to ride switch but he wanted more of the loose feel...without the loose feel the board felt big to him.

He did air 180s on the snowboard this winter so this could be a big WB season ahead.

Just to clarify... my comment for "more time/growth/strength to pull off an air trick" was for my boy. But I see now we are in the same boat (except yours is a v drive).

We started on a 122 ish body glove. It is continuous rocker was fairly flat, thin and very slippery. All six fins could be removed and I played around with that as they developed (like leaving the front fin off so it wouldn't snag or surprise them trying 90 degree slides and back or taking them all off for surface tricks).

Before my daughter started, she wanted her own "pink" board. No way was the answer...especially not spending the $$ until she would actually try it and DO it. Finally I gave her a carrot, if she could get up and stay up, I'd buy here her own board. She would need her own board at tournaments anyway and nobody seems to share these days. heck, even master baths have two sinks. So I got her the girls state 125 whatever it is called and she was on her way.

I noticed that it cut harder and edged more than the starter board so I let my son ride it and he went out of control with edging and cutting. He was pulling hard and that thing was like on rails so I bought him one in the boys version. They've done okay on them but they are very thick and heavy. They are great for speed, edging, and I say jumping/landing but they are not loose and the 3 stage rocker makes it a little harder to side slide especially in not-glassy water. Might also be hard to swing around...don't know. Here is a pic of him on his first day on the girls state 125.

I was replying to the message above initially without looking....now I see I already had your email. I'm looking for a short video now. If I can't find one small enough to email tonight, I'll have my son cut out some clips tomorrow. I am am qualified but he is cheaper.
