    I need a cover for a Sport 200V.

I just bought a 200V with FCT3 tower. My current cover is the factory cover that secures snuggly under the rub rail and has two ratcheting buckles at the stern. I really like the cover, but I live in a very hot part of California and my cover is black. I don't want to use a dark cover in the intense heat. I've had previous boats develop spider cracks in the gelcoat on the cap rail from cooking in the heat. Plus I'm sure it adds a lot of heat to everything else in the interior

I'd like to find a good deal on a light grey or white cover that is similar to the factory one. Does anyone have a light colored cover they want to trade for a black one. My current one is in prefect shape because the previous owner kept it indoors.

I don't trailer my boat with a cover, so I'd also consider a cover that would allow me to fold down the tower underneath the cover if it's even possible. The boat is new to me, so I'm looking for ideas.

    Thanks for any help,

    Jeff

I've always used Evolution Covers for my upgrade/replacements. I love the poleless design and attention to detail that he puts into building the covers. Cory (the owner) doesn't have an active template for the Sport 200 at the moment, but he is working with a guy in Seattle (his homebase) on mocking up a template with his boat. I think this might be a very good option for you. I'm in the market to find a Sport 200 ('11-'14) myself and will be buying a cover off of him as soon as I buy/find my boat. Feel free to give him a call as he is very helpful with any all questions, cover related.

Thank you. Good luck finding a boat. It took me a while to find the boat I was looking for.

I met with Cory yesterday and he took measurements of my 200V. He should be able to crank these out soon although he said he is booked out until about November right now. Truly a top quality cover and i can't wait to get my new cover.

FWIW, I had a custom, black Sunbrella cover made for my first new Nauti back in 2005. Only problem was that where the cover touched my upholstery, it literally baked it. Ruined....

I ended up doing this: I draped towels (same ones I wiped the boat down with) over any areas that would come into contact with the cover before covering it. Problem solved. No need for a new cover.

How is your cover holding up? Will be in the market for a new cover next year and staying to find who might have a template for a sport 200.

The big thing, at least in my opinion, is use case. If you're looking for a cover to tow with Evolution makes probably one of the best covers out there. From what I've read you'll have a tough time finding something that fits better or that is better made. A lot of people here and on the MC site swear by them.

While it would appear to be a great cover, it's near useless for me as my boats sit outside all summer on a lift or on the trailer. The rear of the boat also gets full sun which will bake the transom in a week or two. Thus the Evolution cover just isn't the right cover for me. For my purposes, "if you don't really need a cover to protect the boat, buy an Evolution cover". IMO, it's a great cover if the boat is stored under a canopy or in a garage and need something to tow with.

If you need something to protect the boat, like my use case, probably the best cover out there is a waterline cover that covers the platform made by sikboatcovers.com. Mind you this is a very different take on the cover than the one from Evolution, one which is designed to provide maximum protection for the boat. This is one I have and is now 5 seasons old. It is showing little signs of wear and I would expect to get at least 5 years of additional service out of it. Also be aware though that I take care of my cover by washing it every season before it goes into covered storage and waterproof it every other year.

Here's the link to the Nautique section.....

And this would be the cover on my current boat.....

My buddy had him make a cover for his 2012 MasterCraft X2 that would cover the boat with the tower folded but he had to take the boat to him to have that custom made. I would suggest calling them to see if they have a pattern for what you want. For the cover above he already had a pattern and I just ordered and picked it up when it was done. Took about a week of adjusting the straps and shifting the cover around to get it to fit like this which I've found to be typical.
