Hand made throttle knobs for my new to me 196...

Ever since I was a kid, I can remember seeing the legendary "SKI NAUTIQUES" with their special smell of the inboard engine and the cherry/mahogany throttle knobs. I always thought that was the coolest thing.

Well I am on my third boat but it's my first Nautique, 2002 196 Black & tan colors with the tan hull.

It came with the stupid little silver throttle knob shifter instead of the CLASSIC knob.

My stepdad is a rookie wood worker and loves challenges. After crusing this site and others, i found the dimensions (pretty close) and thread types and had him make me a few knobs. he got a bit carried away with 4 different ones.

    Tell me what you think!

The first or 2nd one. They look like the traditional Correct Craft knob. When we bought our boat, they actually put loctite on the knob because they were such a common item to be stolen.

I would only use #3 if I had a few strippers on my boat.

What Hollywood is really trying to say is "can HW get a ride on #3 via #2 while riding in your boat?"

                            Nice Knob Jobs!

#1 is my favorite. Seriously...what was he thinking on #3? Did he steal that from Quinner's sock drawer?
