The motor is back where is should be, in the Middle. Sorry all you v drive lovers. I had to sell the v drive. The 211 was the right boat for the wrong person, ME

What was wrong with the V-drive in your 2004 Sv-211? Why did you go to the trouble of putting a wakeboard tower on a ski boat? I am just curious because I have a 211. So far, I have not had any problems. However, next time I will probably go with a pure wakeboard boar instead of the crossover!

Rangertrace - valid questions. The tower, I like to barefoot and airchair. The Wakeboard is my wifes who just rides behind the boat. As for the SV211 - I had NO problems or issues with the boat, I think it is a great boat, just not the right boat for me. The 211 was my first try into the v drive world, but I guess i'm just a little to traditional in where the motor should be placed. I hate the comment "the two best days in a boaters life is the day you buy and the day in sell" Personlly I think a person bought the right boat for the wrong person (just me). This statement will be arguable, but I think there is more people room in the direct drives, not storage. All the people are not "stacked" in the middle, but can be spread out around the motor. We do miss the storage room of the 211. This is my 6th Nautique, so I'm sure as my family grows my boat size will need to grow...

Same here, went with the 206 myself and it turned out to be a great choice. We use the tower for almost everything except slalom. I am curious how the slalom and foot wake compares between the 216 and the 211.
Nice boats BTW, like the Blue!!

I have always said that having two sitting areas is a bonus. It allows two different conversation areas. Most of the time I had a direct drive the girls ended up sitting in back and chatting all day. With a v-drive everyone is involved in one conversation. I do love my 211! I know that all the stuff (3 surf boards, 4 wakeboards, tool box, life jackets, barefoot suit, boom, cooler, 5- 6 people) would be harder to fit in a direct drive. Direct drives look better and drive better!

Great thread! I too agree with you guys. Our 206 has held strong as we have always thought we wanted or perhaps needed a true wakeboard boat. However, when the water is right I still love to get my cuts in. For the kids / teen agers the wake on the 206 has still provided enough shape and height with what little balast we can add for us to get some great air....Wake to wake, 360's and 520's have all been easily tried and sometimes landed...As far as the room, also a great benefit. I always wondered how that dynamic worked with people so close to one another in the V-drives.

I'm with you guys and really like the styling and drive of the direct drives. I have a 94 Ski and have a serious emotional attachement to the boat. Absolutely love it. On the other hand, it gets crowded really quick and I have almost no room to store anything. As a general purpose boat, not so great.
I just pulled the trigger on an 07 211 and get to pick it up next weekend. My current train of thought it to just keep both boats... then I get the best of both worlds! Am I crazy to not get rid of the old one???

I have kicked around the idea of getting a new 211,but I absolutely love my 206 so I have decided to add a tower and some ballast this winter. I mainly slalom and my son wakeboards he's 12 so if he wants a wakeboard boat he can wait and buy one him self!2004 Ski 206 Limited,Midnight Blue and Black,
Silver Accents,330 Excalibur,Perfect Pass.
Nautiques Rock!! My 2004 206
