    Nice shots of my 210

A buddy took a few nice shots of us with his DSLR from a chase boat. Thought I'd share with my PN family.

@Migs, so I'm trying to figure out where you delta guys ride. How far east of SF are you? This past june we were visiting SF, Yosemite, stopped @ Columbia State park, and then west on 12 towards Sonoma. Are you guys riding east of the Sac river? Looking on the map, I see tons of "rivers" in the area, is all that fresh water? How long do you transit on water to get to your riding spots?

Miljack - I live 15 minutes south of San Francisco - in the peninsula. I launch out of Orwood resort which is around the corner from Discovery Bay Marina. It's a 50 minute- 1 hr drive for me door to door. As soon as we leave the marina it's all rideable water for hundreds of miles in all directions. All fresh water in this area of the delta. I cruise about 15 minutes to get to my ride spot - Victoria Slough(Vic's) or 10 minutes to Railroads depending what direction the winds blowing.
Here's a pic of where discovery bay is in relation to SF marked by the 2 pin drops. Second pic is zoomed into the discovery bay area where you can see all the different directions of the water ways.

Vic's is about 2.5 miles long straight with an island in the middle to split it Into 2 sides. Everyone goes the same direction and at the end of the slough you turn around the island and go down the other way. Here's some pics so you can see both directions.

Railroads is about 1.5 miles long. Same type of slough with a railroad that runs between both sides. Railroads has bridges on both ends of the slough which makes it a bit tricky/scary to navigate. A fisherman actually died at the beginning of this season as he slammed into the side of the bridge on one end. It's shorter & slightly narrower than Vic's. But if Vic's is blown out- railroads will be glass & vice-versa.

                      Migs,
thanks for the Delta lesson! How did you guys get everyone to cooperate and keep one way traffic? We ride on a man made lake, with a river section that provides consistently good water, unless a Toober cuts loose up there!
I'm up in Sonoma every year for the race and always notice the Petaluma river and always wondered if that was part of the "Delta" riding area. I think where I see the river, it's brackish (Lakeville Rd heading towards Hwy. 37)?

People will just start screaming at boats that are going down the wrong way & they usually stop & turn around. Most folks out there know which sloughs are one way & which aren't. Just have to educate(scream & yell) at the rookies who don't know yet.
Not sure about the delta up by Petaluma. That's pretty far north & I would assume more brackish, but not 100% certain. I have a delta map somewhere that shows the areas that are brackish & fresh. If I can find that graphic i'll post it up on this thread. Next time you're around this way, let me know if you want to come out with us. I've always got room on my boat.

I'd say around 15ft is the avg depth.
