First boat purchase this weekend...Pretty excited!!!

Grew up with MCs as you can see with the MC sticker still on my truck, but after riding this 226 I think I'm hooked on Nautiques for the long haul! Loved the closed cooling ZR6 for salt use. Had an awesome Surf & Board wake on my maiden voyage this weekend. Send over any successful tips you may have for maintaining with salt use

Corrosion X on all metal & engine
Salt-Away flush when done
sprayed down boat & trailer w/ salt-away

Were you out at Palm Valley last Sunday? We had a great session there with perfect weather! As for salt maintenance, you are on the right track. Keep everything clean and wiped down. Keep your trailer clean too and watch the bearings.

11 mph... Little slower washed it out & anything above didn't seem to provide any help. Had 1,180lbs in that back corner & 300lbs in center w/ driver & 2 passengers. I was very impressed with the wake. Very LONG & steep... Big playground to play on!

I think I took in LOTS of water in the Blower vent Lesson learned to get that covered up for next time!

Yes, I made it down to the Palm Valley Bridge Sunday... Saw another Nautique just about exactly the same as mine while down there. It was a perfect day on the water!

Tip for salt water - find a new body of water.

Also dump the ski rope hanging from the tower and invest in a good wakeboard line. Safer!!!

I lived and skied/rode in saltwater for years. salt gets in EVERYTHING... Did I say that salt gets in everything? lol
I used to soak the engine/tranny in WD40 frequently.(I actually bought it by the case) Some use other products but WD40 offers good protection, yet can be hosed off relatively easily. Also, other products can tend to attract more dirt, and make things slimy if you have to work on anything. NeverDull (product) to keep the stainless clean and looking nice. And I can't stress enough, flush everything with fresh water after use. I mean flood everything with fresh water. Even your Galv. trailer will rust. Flush the brakes, lights etc.
I was anal about my boat, but things still would get corroded. Even stainless steel can rust. You can soak trailer parts with WD40 too, to help some.
