My new 04 Ski 196!!

Well after about 20 years of waiting I finally own my very own Ski 196. What a beauty and I can't believe I found a website dedicated to these incredible machines.
The pictures aren't great but it's the best I could do in the boathouse where it is at right now.

Yea, it is just on railway ties which I am none to happy about but I trust the guys at Pride of Muskoka Marine when they tell me it will be perfect. Incredible service there.

and yes, that is ice under it!! I was actually standing on about 10" of ice looking at the bottom of the hull and about 12" behind me was open water. Lots of ice on the lakes this year.

04ski196, what part of Ontario are you from. Till I was 16 years old I spent my summers on the Rideau Waterway, Upper Rideau Lake. It is near Smith Falls. I learned how to ski there when I was 7.

I am in Burlington which is just west of Toronto. My boat is in Muskoka, about 2.5 hours north of Toronto.
The area you are talking about is the Ottawa area right? I have never skied in that area but used to compete in barefooting and had a huge contingent (sp?) of people from the Ottawa and Quebec area come this way for tournaments.

Yes, the Ridaeu Waterway starts in Ottawa and goes to Smith Falls through a series of lakes and locks. We were on the upper most lake. I can remember opening up the cottage in early May and the ice had just left the lake. It always seemed like a short summer!

That's two 196's this week. If I had my druthers, as much as I love my 206, I'd go back to the 196. It's a classic. My wife would kill me though--since I had to do alot of convincing to get the 206.

Looks like a reverse to my colours. I like the blue and yellow, I guess Pride does also. Is this a demo? Was it at Muskoka Woods?

If you are interested I have a set of ski racks for sale in the classified that might fit inside your boat.

Yea, it was used at Muskoka Woods last season and that is inside their boathouse.
Pride is picking it up next week to get it serviced and detailed for me to pick it up on May 7th. I have a drysuit and I will probably be skiing as soon as I get back to the cottage......if not on the way back!!!

Ours was a Muskoka Woods boat also. We bought it in the fall of 2003 and were able to ride on the October long weekend before storing it. Included in our cost was the first year winterization and storage and valet service through July until we bought a trailer.
