    DIY Wakesurf

I have not made my own yet, but took these pics from a friend's this week and thought I'd share. The suction cups are glass pane installers - about $20 on amazon. The L Brackets are standard stainless brackets. He welded a stabilizer to keep the L from bending. The white board is kitchen cutting board. He tied a small boat bumper to it if it falls off. I didn't have a measuring tape at the time so I used my arm and hand to give some perspective (my arm is 18" from fingertip to elbow). Total investment is less than $50.

I know it's not a new or novel idea, but sometimes it helps to put several ideas together for that perfect fit.

Thanks for sharing, I just tried wakesurfing for the first time this summer and am looking to make one of these surf gates too. I think I'm gonna get one of the suction handles from Harbor Freight (only like $8) and a set of cutting boards from Target and make it out of that. After doing some research it looks like a common size for the plate is roughly 8" x 10"

Don't order the plastic suction cup handles because they bow under pressure and release from the boat. There's a good post on here that cuts the frame out of a larger cutting board. It's lighter than the metal frames - search for sucgate.
