Has anyone tried installing a swivel seat into a SAN yet? I am curious as how to do this, as it would seem very practical to have. If you haven't is there anyone that would know how to/why not to?

I would think it would be pretty easy to do. The bottom of the seat is plastic, and can easily be drilled in whatever hole pattern you would need. My recommendation would be to get a swivel piece that is as low-profile as possible so that you don't raise the height of the seat any more than you have to. You might end up with the windshield frame right in your line of sight. Also, I would look for one that locks in position so that you don't get thrown out of the seat unexpectedly. Here's the seat bottom for reference.

wow, thanks nautiquejeff! looks more like a fabrication job rather than simply buying it and installing. is the 211 seat very different? do you think they are interchangable? where could i purchase new carpet? do they make snap in carpet that isnt already cut out for the stock seat that i could put directly over the fiberglass in the floor?

I wouldn't recommend a swivel seat in the 210 because it isn't set up for it. The seat would not swivel very well unless you were to move it far away from center. I am not positive but I don't think the 211 and 210 seat bases are interchangeable. There is no snap in carpet readily available from CC to put in the 210.

In think there was a guy on Wake world that made a swivel seat for his boat. i think it was a Nautty, but it could have been a BU or other boat. He did some serious fabrication since just adding a swivel is not enough. You have to add the axis of rotation in just the right place to avoid the seat from hitting the radio and side console. After being out on the water yesterday with four adults, and trying to eat arond the table (see it is not such a bad option afterall) I realised that that seat must be able to swile in the future. I will be doing some checking, and if it is dooable, I will document how.
CC, if you are out there, make the driver's seat swivel, i don't mind a little play in the seat as long as I can turn it around and hangout with my crowd.

totally ag4ever! the reason i wanted to do this in the first place was because i also wanted to add a table in it, so i thought it would be practical. has anyone ever installed a table into it? i believe its a factory option, but can i do it after the purchase?

I'm sure you could add the table after the purchase. You'd need to order the mounting point and the table.

the floor is solid fiberglass and then it is covered with the carpet. Below the fiberglass is the flotation foam.

The floor in that area is removable I believe. I think that is the panel that covers the fuel tank. when I spoke to my dealer about the heater install and adding the remote valves for the ballast tank, he said the floor can be removed real easy. Heck, they had to remove mine b/c the drain from the front of the boat was clogged from the factory. I bet that was a pita to fix since it was the transfer tube for in front of the tank to the rear was filled with foam.

good call there ag4ever. I wasn't even looking specifically there. That center section is removable. Depending on the year of the boat, it is either held in by philips head screws or allen head screws (2004). Under that panel is the gas tank. You have to remove the rear seat base too.

The floor section where you want to mount a table is removable. It is an access panel to your fuel tank. When you open it you can see how the tank as a hole moulded in it to allow the table leg to pass through it. The floor panel is made out of "boat board" plastic and carpeted.
