I've got the Dual Tournament style speedometers on my 94 SPN. They don't ever seem to work. When I get home I blow them out with my air compressor, they will work for about 5-10 minutes the next time out. I use to have a cheap boat with a little paddle on it and it worked a heck of a lot better. Is there any way to get these things to work for more than 5 minutes? Thanks.

RE: Speedometers?
Are you running in dirty water? There are a few different type of pitot tubes. We used to switch our out to some with little rods on either side of the hole, they didn't clog as much. The best solution is to get a perfect pass, the cheapest solution is to get a GPS runner's watch.

RE: Speedometers?
The water isn't real dirty. They're are patches of hydrilla here and there. I'm going to be at a different lake this weekend, so I'll check them out.
Where can I get other pilot tubes?
I'd like to get perfect pass, but that's not in the budget until next summer. Right now I drive off of RPM's for wakeboarders.Previous:

I'm in Austin also and ski on Lake Austin. I have the same problem on a 98 SN. I have perfect pass, so I use that for skiing. I think I have an older version of PP. I understand the newer ones have a paddle wheel under the boat. I don't have that. Mine is working off of rpms.
At least I get a consistent speed even if it might not be exactly right.
