Today I replaced my impeller. My motor only got about 210 degrees. I went back out on the water for about another one and 1/2 hours. Everything ran great motor stayed at 160 the whole time. I was going to put it on the trailer and didn't pull it up far enough so I tried to restart the motor and my check engine light came on and will not allow me to start up. I even tried one hour after all of this and it still came on. If anyone has had this happen please let me know what to do.

RE: GT 40 problems please help
Josh check to ground wires to the engine and dash. Also, what do the other guages say The check engine will be for temp, oil pressure or knocking. When you dewinterized the boat did you use teflon tape on the sensor used to drain the block. If so the knock sensor is misreading take the sensor out remove any tape and reinstall. I de-winterized my GT-40 this week and have had a terrible time getting to start. Someone helped themselves to my gas during the winter months and I didnt notice it until I had cranked on it a few times. I got it started after about an hour of dinking with it and ran at operating temp for 20 minutes.
Yesterday I went to the lake to start it again and no go. It'll crank over easily and when you spray a little starter fluid in the flame arrester it will cough a little. I guess my injectors are plugged or the fuel pump is dead. All that to say, I feel your pain. I havent experienced your dilemma yet but I've only had it for 1 season.
